Date: February 16, 2013 There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Czech CEZ Nymburk (5-9) defeated on the road 4th placed Latvian VEF Riga (9-6) 89-85 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points after three quarters before their 27-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (197-84, college: CS Northridge) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Slovakian power forward Radoslav Rancik (207-79, college: St.Cloud St., agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. CEZ Nymburk's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American-Bulgarian guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and American forward Will Daniels (203-86, college: Rhode Island) scored 24 points. Four VEF Riga players scored in double figures. Defending Czech champion moved-up to seventh place. Defending Latvian champion VEF Riga keeps the fourth position with six games lost. CEZ Nymburk will face league's leader Zalgiris in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VEF Riga will play on the road against Tsmoki-Minsk.
