Date: February 23, 2013 We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Valga (10-13) lost at home to seventh ranked KK Parnu (8-12) 72-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-62. KK Parnu outrebounded Valga 37-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by international center Rain Raadik (208-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Augustas Peciukevicius (192-91) supported him with 17 points. Even 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Serbian guard Sasa Djordjevic (190-85) did not help to save the game for Valga. Latvian center Raitis Grafs (208-81, college: Valparaiso) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. KK Parnu maintains seventh position with 8-12 record. Loser Valga keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. KK Parnu will meet bottom-ranked Hito/Johvi (#9) on the road in the next round. Valga will play against Rapla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
