Date: February 28, 2013 Olympiacos Piraeus successfully starts Round 9 in Istanbul as they rout Besiktas JK for 6-3 record. The Greek side won 79:60 in the opener of Thursday. Besiktas JK fell at 0-9 record in Group F.
Besiktas JK had nothing to lose in the game and started better. The Turkish team posted a 15-13 rally in the first period, but could not match the opponents in the rest of the game. Olympiacos Piraeus replied with 25-15 in the second period and never looked behind after. Moreover the guests produced 22-21 in the third quarter and added 19-9 in the last stanza.
Josh Powell top-scored for the winners with 16 points and Kostas Papanikolaou added 11. Vassilis Spanoulis and Georgios Printezis delivered 9 points each in a win. Gasper Vidmar and Patrick Christopher replied with 13 points in the losing effort. Randal Falker and Ricky Minard followed them with 11 points each.
