Date: February 28, 2013 Real Madrid escape with the narrow win over Brose Baskets Bamberg. The Spanish team trailed for the majority of the game but needed 19-13 rally in the last stanza to win 76:73.
Real Madrid actually won the first period 21-20, but allowed the guests to take control at the end of the half. Brose Baskets Bamberg posted 21-18 in the second frame and grabbed 41:39 halftime advantage. Moreover the German team won the third period 19-18 and led 7 points midway through the last stanza. Jaycee Carroll tied the game first at 64:64 and then Felipe Reyes closed the run at 70:64. Although Maik Zirbes tied the game later for the guests at 73:73, Dontaye Draper nailed three for the home side to celebrate a tough 76:73 win.
Jaycee Carroll top-scored for the winners with 11 points, while Nikola Mirotic and Rudy Fernandez added 9 each. Rafael Hettsheimer and Mirza Begic (217-C-85) followed them with 8 points each. Anton Gavel answered with 15 points in the losing case and Maik Zirbes had 14. Jeremiah Massey brought 11, while Matt Walsh had 10.
