Top 16 Round 8: Anadolu Efes - CSKA 63-60 (16-22, 10-12, 15-12, 22-14)
Date: February 22, 2013 Anadolu Efes came up strong in the fourth quarter to tame CSKA in Istanbul for the seventh straight EuroLeague victory. The Turkish team climbed at 7-1 record atop of Group E. Jordan Farmar nailed 15 points to lead the winners. CSKA quickly jumped in front in this one and stayed comfortably ahead throughout the opening quarter. The visitors ensured a 22:16 lead after ten minutes. Aaron Jackson gave CSKA a double-digit lead early in the second frame. The visitors maintained it to secure a 34:26 halftime advantage. However Anadolu Efes tipped off the third quarter with six straight points to narrow the gap. CSKA did not allow the hosts to pull ahead securing a 46:41 advantage at the final break. Semih Erden and Guler dragged the hosts within one 47:48 early in the fourth frame. Jamon Lukas Gordon scored five points in a row as Anadolu Efes jumped ahead 53:51 for the first time in the game with under five minutes to go. Milos Teodosic immediately answered with a three-pointer to put CSKA back in charge but not for long. The lead changed hands for several times before Jordan Farmar made it 61:58 with 17 seconds to go. Milos Teodosic sank both free throws to cut the deficit but Jordan Farmar went perfect from the line to keep Anadolu Efes in front 63:60. Zoran Ercig and Milod Teodosic had two three-point attempts in the dying seconds to force overtime but missed them both as the hosts got away with the win. Jamon Lukas Gordon delivered 14 points and 11 boards, while Semih Erden added 10 points for the hosts. Milos Teodosic answered with 26 points for CSKA. Sasha Kaun had 12 points and 9 rebounds in defeat.
