It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 24-point difference suggests that VOO Verviers-Pepinster is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game was mostly controlled by VOO Verviers-Pepinster. Liege Basket was better in second period 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian power forward Nemanja Aleksandrov (210-87) scored 30 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Chris Ferguson (206-89, college: Mid-Continent) chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman B.J. Monteiro (195-90, college: Duquesne, agency: Two Points) with 18 points and his fellow American import forward Andre Williamson (200-89, college: Appalachian St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. VOO Verviers-Pepinster maintains eighth position with 4-14 record. Liege Basket lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. VOO Verviers-Pepinster will play against higher ranked Leuven Bears (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liege Basket will play against Okapi Aalstar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
