Top ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (15-6) recorded its sixth loss on the court of third ranked Chalon/Saor. Visitors were edged by Chalon/Saor in overtime 69-67. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Gravelines-Dunkerque. Gravelines-Dunkerque was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 14-6 third quarter run of Chalon/Saor. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-10. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gravelines-Dunkerque to just 6 points in third quarter. Chalon/Saor brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for swingman Blake Schilb (200-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Power forward J.K. Edwards (202-82, college: UNLV) answered with 11 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) added 15 points in the effort for Gravelines-Dunkerque. Defending champion maintains third place with 13-7 record having just three points less than leader Gravelines. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Strasbourg. Chalon/Saor will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against Poitiers (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
