The 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship for Men will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from June 29 to July 8.
In 2010 USA became the winner of the U17 World Championship in Hamburg, Germany. The favorites overcame European best team Poland U17 111:80. Pre-tournament favorites USA has looked unstoppable all tournament long and rightfully reached the trophy. James Michael McAdoo (205-F-93) led all the winners with 20 points for the trophy. Beal Bradley nailed 19, while Gilchrist Michael netted 16. Gielo Tomasz delivered 21 points in the losing case. Ponitka Mateusz and Filip Matczak (184-PG-93) produced 14 points for the 'Silver' team.
Representing Europe will be FIBA Europe U16 champions Spain, runners-up Belgium, bronze winners Italy, as well as Turkey and U17 Worlds hosts Netherlands.

Group A Turkey - Taiwan 76-56 Easy win for Turkey against team who after this game don't have any victory from three games - team of Taiwan. Group C Canada - Finland 92-68 Canada crushed Finland on this game. They at very beginning showed 'who is the boss' by winning first quarter with 37:22 and second one with 19:9 for going on half time with big lead 56:31. Group A Taiwan - Egypt 71-88 Abdelrahman Abdelmaged (190-SG-00) lead the Egypt in first victory of this tournament against Taiwan. He nipped 16 points and had 11 rebounds for his double double record at this game.
