U17 World Championship Draw was held in Amsterdam earlier today. Twelve teams were drawn into two Groups with six teams in each. The top four teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. USA will enter the second edition of the tournament as the defending champions. They edged France in Toulouse in 2010.
Here are the preliminary round groups:

Group A: Belgium, Canada, Italy, South Korea, Mali and USA

Group B: Australia, Brazil, Japan, Netherlands, Spain and Turkey.

The tournament tips off on August 17. The Final is scheduled for August 26.

The Official Draws of the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championships for Men and Women took place in Zaragoza, Spain, early Wednesday evening. Both events are to be staged in Zaragoza from 22 June to 3 July. Coaches Named For 2016 USA Women's U17 World Championship Team - Mar 3, 2016

The 2016 USA Basketball Women's U17 World Championship Team will be led by Dori Oldaker , head coach at Mt. Lebanon High School in Pennsylvania, with USA assistant coaches Dianne Lewis of Thomas Edison High School in Virginia and Samantha Quigley , who is the head mentor at the University of St. Francis (NAIA).
