World Championships U19 Basketball (Men)


Draw held in Prague on Tuesday - Jan 16, 2013

U19 World Championship Draw was held in Prague, Czech Republic on Tuesday. Sixteen teams were drawn into four pools with four teams in each to start the preliminary round of the tournament. The competition will be held from June 27 through July 7, 2013.
Top three teams from each group of the preliminary round will advance into the Eighth-Final Round. There the teams will be drawn into two pools with six teams in each. The top eight teams from the Eighth-Final Round will qualify for the Quarterfinal round.
Lithuania will defend their title as they won the crown in 2011 in Latvia.

Here the preliminary round groups:

Group A: Croatia, Spain, Canada, South Korea
Group B: Iran, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Argentina
Group C: Senegal, Serbia, Brazil, Australia
Group D: China, Cote dIvoire, USA, Russia.
  



Spanish city of Zaragoza to host 2016 FIBA U17 World Championships; Egypt and Italy to stage 2017 FIBA U19 World Championships - Mar 12, 2016

FIBA's Central Board on Saturday announced that the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championships for Men and Women will take place in Zaragoza, Spain and also revealed the hosts of the 2017 FIBA U19 World Championships. FINAL USA - Croatia 79-71 OT The USA clinched the title at the World Championship in Heraklion. They overcame Croatia in a thrilling Final tonight. Jalen Brunson (188-G-97) scored 14 points, dished out 7 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds to pace Team USA to an overtime triumph. It was a high-quality basketball from start to finish. SEMIFINALS USA - Greece 82-76 Team USA advanced into the World Championship Final. They overcame a fierce opposition from hosting Greece to reach the title game. Jalen Brunson (188-G-97) was unstoppable for the USA with 30 points. Team USA grabbed a 17:12 lead after ten minutes. They arrived at the final intermission up by 4 points 57:53.
