Kaipeda and Panevezys will host FIBA U19 World Championship from July 18-28. The Lithuanian cities are fully prepared for the excited event.
Lithuania will host the U19 World Championships in 2013. The Baltic State was chosen earlier in Brazil. Chile farewell to the Championship in 2011 and the tournament moves back to Europe.

USA defended the Gold from the 2009 championship and they also celebrated at the same event four years ago. Kaleena Lewis (183-F-93) stepped up for USA with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Elizabeth Williams (190-C-93) and Stefanie Dolson also helped with 15 points each, while Ariel Massengale (168-G-93) followed them with 10 points and 7 assists. In the loosing squad, Astou Ndour collected 10 points and 6 boards. Brazil grabbed 70:67 win against Australia winning the Bronze at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Chile.

Spain - USA 46-69 USA cruised past Spain 69-46 in the Big Final of the FIBA U19 World Championship in Chile. USA defended the Gold from the 2009 championship and they also celebrated at the same event four years ago. Spain ended with Silver. Their second scorer was Laura Gil (190-C-92, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with 7 pts. USA took control on Spain from the beginning and never looked back. Quarters: 15-25, 7-12, 14-19, 10-13. It is important to mention that these two teams also met in the Finals two years ago.

Australia - Brazil 67-70 Brazil grabbed 70-67 win against Australia winning the Bronze at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Chile. It was a very exciting game and Brazil managed to make it at the end. Australia stays without the medal. Damiris Dantas (192-C-92) once again was the leading player in her team. She spent the entire game on the floor collecting 26 points and 13 rebounds. Mariana Lambert (179-F/G-92) had 14 and Tassia Carcavalli (178-F-92) helped with 13 pts. On the other side, Australia got 16 points and 12 boards from Rebecca Allen (185-G-92). Tayla Roberts (191-F/C-93) had 16 pts and 6 boards, while Rebecca Cole (177-PG-92) added 12 pts, plus 7 assists. Quarters: 16-20, 19-13, 10-18, 22-19. USA won the Gold at this event. Like it was two years ago, USA was too strong for Spain in the Finals 69-46.

Canada - France 70-52 Canada finished as No.5 at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Chile. They handed 70-52 loss to France in crucial game for this spot. Canada was one of the favorites at this event, but they failed in the Quarterfinals against Spain and it was their only loss in Chile. France finished as No.6. Nirra Fields (178-PG-93) top-scored for the winners with 18 points, Michelle Plouffe (193-C-92) had 14 points and 6 rebs, while Korissa Williams (177-G-92) added 11 pts, plus 6 boards. In France, Adja Konteh (178-F-92) delivered 14 points. Clarince Djaldi-Tabdi (184-F-95) had 12 pts and 10 boards, while Helena Akmouche (174-G-92) added 10 pts. Quarters: 27-18, 9-14, 14-9, 20-11. USA won the Gold in Chile, while Silver belongs to Spain. Brazil is the Bronze medal winner.

Japan - Russia 71-66 Japan finished participation at the FIBA U19 World Championship with victory. They handed 71-66 loss to Russia to end as No.7 at this event. Of course, Russia finished as 8th ranked team. Shiori Takada (170-G-92) shined for the winners with 19 points and 6 rebounds in this game. Sanae Motokawa (175-F-92) had 17 points and 5 boards, while Rui Machida (160-PG-93) added 16 pts, 9 rebs and 6 assists. In Russia, Ksenia Tikhonenko (174-G-93, agency: RIZO) collected 21 points and 17 rebs (valuation 31). Alexandra Stolyar (178-G-92) and Svetlana Efimova (187-F-92) (6 rebs) netted 14 and 12 points respectively. Quarters: 18-15, 21-20, 14-9, 20-11. USA won the Gold in Chile. Silver belongs to Spain and Bronze to Brazil.
