After beating the national team of Turkey 81:64 to win their first World Basketball Championship Gold medal since 1994, Team USA players spoke with Eurobasket about their exciting journey overseas.

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors and Team USA point guard and shooting guard, who can of a great rookie season in the NBA after being selected with the 7th overall pick by the Warriors.

Congratulations, what won the game for you?

'I think it was our focus and determination. We always knew we could score, but we wanted to come out and play strong defense. We were eager to get out there, work hard, leave our egos aside and just play'.

How do you fell winning the gold under the 'B Team' title?

'We never bought into it. I mean a lot of people labeled us as that, but we knew that if we were focused on what we were supposed to do coming over here, and bonded as a team, we can beat everybody in this tournament and that is what we did, we beat everybody we were up against, I guess that is what 'B' stands for'.

The outstanding OKC Thunder star small forward, Kevin Durant averaged 22.1 points, and 6.2 rebounds collected the MVP trophy and was also named the competition's All-Tournament starting five, and voted as the top forward of the games.

Did coming into the game being named the 'B Team' extra motivate you in any aspect, and do you feel that you have proven to the United States and the World that you can be the next version of the 'Redeem Team'?

'I think that everybody's motivation especially came from people back in the states which really doubted us. They said it will be tough for us to win, but we came out and showed everybody they were wrong. We worked hard every day in practice. We were focused, and the coaches did a great job with letting us know what we were really doing out here. To play for a great coach like coach 'K' that really knows what he wants is a great feeling, so it was exciting for me to come out here and win the gold and also prove people wrong'.

Another champ is the Philadelphia 76ers swingman, Andre Iguodala, who in this past NBA season posted career best in rebounds, assists, and blocks, and a career low in personal fouls as he finished the year averaging 17.1 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.8 apg, and 1.7 spg.

How did you feel the environment in the arena was? Not like the average NBA fans right?
'It was really cool. I don't know how many people were actually seated in the arena, but it was very loud and energetic. To play like we did in that kind of environment makes the victory so much more special. I'm going to remember this'.

What made the team so unique?

'We all just sacrificed for one another. It was never about me making my shots. Everybody bought into focusing on teamwork, always five guys on the court, and everybody else were ready to come in and do their job. It was incredible'.

Did you ever imagine yourself winning the gold medal?

'You could only think about it, but you don't actually know until after you win. It's indescribable, a great feeling'.

Denver Nuggets Guard and Team USA captain, Chauncey Billups added: Its a great feeling. It was a big win for us. We wanted to come here and prove that we are the best players and the best team in the world, and I think we did that. We hadn't won in 16 years, now we can go to London and try to win the Olympic gold.'
