Nigeria's senior women's basketball team will on Monday begin her quest for a place at Rio 2016 Olympic Games facing a tough opponent in top ranked Belarus in the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament Nantes, France. FIBA Africa mourn Madame Salamatou Maega - Dec 24, 2014

Mali former international player and Secretary General Madame Salamatou Maega is died, the sad incidence occurred on December 23rd, 2014 in Paris (France). Sala as she is fondly called, was born on October 13, 1952 in Niamey, Niger Republic. At her very young age she has engaged in playing basketball. Spain will host 2018 World Cup - Dec 16, 2014

Spain has been announced the as the host of the 2018 World Cup. It will be the inaugural tournament under such name after changing the name from the World Championship. Spain and Israel bid for hosting the tournament. Spain got 23 votes out of 26 placed to clinch the rights to host the event. Spain hosted men's 2014 FIBA World Cup.   [read more]
