Eleven-time Africa champion Angola Friday painfully exited the FIBA Basketball World Cup currently on in Spain alongside seven other countries.

The painful aspect of the African giant came with a 91-83 points win in its last group-D game against Oceania giant Australia until the cherished victory over Australia turned into nightmare when Mexico handed Korea a 87-71 points defeat to finish fourth in the group.

Though Angola finished the preliminary round on the same note with Mexico but the South American went through on a head-head note as the Mexican had the better of the long standing African champion (79-55) when both sides meet early in the week.

The other countries that are headed for home include another Africa representative Egypt who finished the World Cup without a win in Group-A just as Korea also did not record any victory in Group-D.

Ukraine is another country going home with a splendid performance of a 2-3 record which was not enough to save it from being eliminated from Spain.

The Ukrainian finished their World Cup campaign as the fifth best side from Group-C as Dominican Republic snatched a fourth slot to make it into the Round of Sixteen.

The other countries whose efforts were not enough to guarantee them a place at the knock-out stages includes, Iran, Philippines, Finland and Puerto Rico.
