FINAL Australia - Japan 85-78 Australia celebrated Gold in Taipei. The Emerging Opals outgunned Japan in the title clash tonight. Darcy Garbin (187-F-94) stepped up with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the champions. Australia jumped to a 43:33 halftime lead. SEMIFINALS Taiwan - Australia 74-79 Australia upset hosting Taiwan to reach the title game at the World University Games. Lauren Scherf (196-C/F-96) notched 21 points and 17 boards to lead the Emerging Opals. Taiwan accumulated a 38:34 halftime advantage.
