Latvia - Lithuania 75-77
Lithuania nipped Latvia to enter Final in Taipei. Ignas Vaitkus (196-SF-93, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 20 points to lead the winners. Latvia recorded a 17:13 lead after the opening quarter. Lithuania bounced back in the second term. They sank 23 points to surge ahead for a 36:33 halftime lead. Latvia denied the deficit in the third term as the teams entered the final term tied at 56. Lithuania however sank 21 points in the fourth quarter and eked out a tough victory. Tomas Dimsa (195-F/G-94) and Donatas Tarolis (202-F-94, agency: Interperformances) netted 13 points each for the winners. Guntis Sipolins (206-C-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds for Latvia. Linards Jaunzems (198-F-95) had 19 points in the defeat.

Serbia - USA 61-93
USA reached the title game at the World University Games. They knocked down Serbia in the semifinal clash. Vincent Edwards (203-F-96) posted 31 points to lead the North American side. USA dominated from start to finish. They established a 46:23 halftime lead. USA unloaded 33 points in the third term to clear off for good. Carsen Edwards (183-PG-98) chipped in 16 points and issued 6 assists for the winners. Marko Tejic (209-C/F-95, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 12 points for Serbia. Ilija Dokovic (185-G-96) tossed in 10 points in the loss.

FINAL USA - Lithuania 74-85 Lithuania captured the Gold medals in Taipei. They overcame the USA in the Final. Ignas Vaitkus (196-SF-93, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 15 points to lead the Baltic team. The USA accumulated a 38:36 halftime lead. But Lithuania bounced back with a 25:18 run in the third term.
