The hosts desired to show the best game and easily reached the win. They opened the campaign with 29:11 in the opening quarter and then dedicated more time in defense. Maccabi held NTD Service to just six points in the second quarter as the teams left the court with 41:17 for the hosts. Even though the team from Azerbaijan won the third quarter Maccabi proved the superiority once again in the last period. Giorgi Shermadini was unstoppable with 33 points, 17 rebounds and 8 assists. Zurab Sanikidze (206-C/F-85) supported him with 20 points and 8 rebounds, while Barbaqadze collected 17 points and 15 rebounds. Tahir Bakhshiyev (199-F-82) ended up with 18 points in the losing effort. In another opener Ukrainian Budivelnik overcame Hapoel from Israel. In the game for the third place Devon beat Hapoel to clinch the third position. The team from Azerbaijan overcame the opponents 85:82 due to the last quarter. It was a very good game where both teams could be lucky with the win, but only one of them could benefit from it. A 26:23 in the last period brought the victory for Devon. Zaur Pashayev (184-G-83) top-scored for the winners with 31 points. Tahir Bakhshiyev made 15 points and 8 rebounds, whilst Sariev added 14. Nechaisi finished the game with 23 points in defeat.

Hollis Price hit a free throw and Mindaugas Lukauskis nailed a triple to stretch the gap to 87:82 with one minute to go. Tarence Kinsey replied with a three-pointer to keep Fenerbahce in visibility. Lietuvos Rytas wasted their offensive possession but Will Solomon was given an offensive foul and the hosts simply killed the remaining time to seal the win. Rasim Basak ended up with 8 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

The draw of the preliminary round of U20 European championship was performed in Venice, Italy. Division B tournament will take place in Targu Mures, Romania in early August. The teams were distributed in 4 groups with 5 teams in Groups A, B and C and 4 teams in Group D. Two best teams out of each group will advance to the qualifying round.

Azerbaijan U18 team had another unsatisfactory result as they received a severe blow from Andorra 84:119. The loss saw them fell to 0-2 record in Group A at the European championship in Wales.
Azerbaijan struggled defensively and virtually could not stop Andorra in any way.

Daniel Mofreita was on fire for Andorra team as he poured in 41 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to reign on the court. Azerbaijan committed massive 43 turnovers and could not find the touch from free throw line converting just 50%. Andorra led by 13 points after the starting frame 32:19 and remained in front at halftime 47:35. Azerbaijan had a momentum midway through the third quarter when they cut the lead to just 4 points 54:58 but Andorra reacted immediatelly and cleared off to a safe 74:60 distance entering the final frame. Azerbaijan defence collapsed in the fourth stanza allowing Andorra to fly over the court nailing 45 points and sealing their first win at the tournament. Jose Del Castillo finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds for Andorra. Jordi Alfaya Garcia had 14 points for the winners. Azerbaijan were paced by Rufat Mahmudzade with 36 points and 22 rebounds. Goshgar Ibadullayev chipped in 14 points in defeat. Azerbaijan will continue their action in Group F where they first meet San Marino today. Andorra will play in Group E and faces Monaco tomorrow.
