Fifth ranked Nadezhda Orenburg (5-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Dynamo Moscow (2-7). Nadezhda Orenburg defeated Dynamo Moscow 99-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo Moscow. It looked good early as Dynamo Moscow took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Nadezhda Orenburg had a 24-12 second period charge getting the lead and Dynamo Moscow was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 84-99. Nadezhda Orenburg made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Nadezhda Orenburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The former international center Oksana Zakalyuzhnaya (197-77) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Greek-American swingman Katie Douglas (185-79, college: Purdue) supported her with 21 points and 5 assists. Even 23 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) did not help to save the game for Dynamo Moscow. Her fellow American import guard Kristi Toliver (170-87, college: Maryland) added 16 points and 7 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dynamo Moscow's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nadezhda Orenburg moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chevakata. Dynamo Moscow at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Spartak SP and Dynamo-GUVD. Nadezhda Orenburg will play against Spartak St.Petersburg (#8) on the road in the next round. Dynamo Moscow will play against Dynamo Kursk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
