Regular Season Round 42: Kryvbasbasket - Halychyna 81-68 (23-25, 14-12, 25-9, 19-22) Date: March 20, 2011 No shocking result in a game in Krivoy Rog where eighth ranked Kryvbasbasket (20-20) defeated 11th ranked Halychyna (14-28) 81-68 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Kryvbasbasket forced 19 Halychyna turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was international power forward Igor Zaitsev (211-89) who scored 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international forward Dmitry Korablev (198-77) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Todd Abernethy (185-84, college: Mississippi) who recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import center Harold Jamison (204-76, college: Clemson) added 15 points and 4 steals respectively. Four Halychyna players scored in double figures. Halychyna's coach Andrei Podkovyrov tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kryvbasbasket moved-up to seventh place. Loser Halychyna keeps the eleventh position with 28 games lost. Kryvbasbasket will face DniproAzot (#9) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round. Halychyna will play on the road against the league's second-placed BC Donetsk where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
