Before the game Pekaes was almost sure their victory. But surprisingly Ventspils
(especially their Americans) showed very aggressive and good basketball and won the game
in the last minutes.

Despite excellent start of Ventspils and very low field goal percentage by the Spanish
team ( 3rd min. 8:0), Joventut was able to take over lead and held it until the final of
the game, though in 37th min. of the game the score was tied (76:76) and when there were
75 seconds to play, Joventut led only by 3 (79:82) points, but thanks to their good
shooting from the free-throw line, they were able to increase their lead and finally won
the game by 8 points. In the first half there were too many turnovers made by BK Ventspils
and absolute disaster in shots from free throw line ( free throws BK Ventspils 52% -
Joventut 86%) through the game.

It was a great game from Ulm especially from the two american players Jarvis Walker
and Adrian Autry. German nationalteam-player Tim Nees gets 12 rebounds. The last three
minutes were very amazing. Five seconds bevor the end of the game Ulms Karsten Kemna makes
the point to 79:75 with his second free throw.

A bad shooting performance, and the impossibilty to stop the American couple of
Badalona in the first half, opened a wide gap between the teams, which was impossible to
cut for Ventspils.

Venspils, trailing 23-32, with 11 minutes played in the first half, made a 18-0 rally
to lead 43-32 in the following 7 minutes. In the second half Ratiopharm Ulm took the lead
again with offensively devastant Walker. Ventspils was leading, but blew away 3 point lead
in a couple of seconds at the end of the 2nd half, with Jarvis Walker tying the game at
the buzzer, and do it again in OT final seconds.
It was the game of one man: Jarvis
Walker (Ulm/44 points, 10 rebounds). After five minutes only 6 points (2:4). Then
Ventspils was the better team, especially Sandis Buskevics and Aigars Zeidaks. In the last
second of the regular time, Jarvis Walker made two points to 83:84 and also gets one free
throw - 84:84 overtime. The Ulm was the team with the better tactics.

It took 13 hours for Ulm team to come to Badalona - no training in the olympic hall.
The result: No chance against Badalona. Badalona got away from the beginning by 15 points.
The two Americans of Ulm had a very bad day, especially guard Adrian Autry. The only
player of Ulm, who reached a good level was Dirk Lommerse with nine rebounds.

Apoel Nicosia started very well, and dominated first half, with offensive scoring from
Clark, Burton and Serdaris. Ventspils was down by 15 at 25-40 (18'), with very bad
shooting. In the second half Venspils improved offensively, with Sims and Jeffries good
performances, tough defense and rebounding from all the rest of the team, and overcame the
deficit at 55-55 at mid-half. Then the game was very equilibrated, finishing at 72-72,
with 10 seconds left basket by Zeidaks from Valeiko's pass, which evened the game, letting
Ventspils to win in the overtime by 3 points.

Easy victory for Ventspils on Spartak Moscow, which guarantees to Latvians the final

Leading by 10 points after 5 minutes, the Latvians stayed ahead all the game, led by
