 | Serbia continues WC U19 without Marko Keselj | |
| | | Serbian U19 NT has one more problem before quarterfinal of the World Championship in Novi Sad. They will have to continue competition without maybe the best player of the team Marko Keselj (208-F-88, agency: Beo Basket) who got serious cut (7 stitches) on a palm of the right hand. Injury happened in the second minute of the game against Lithuania when player tried to block a shot and got big cut of the rim so he for sure won't be able to help his team mates in the battle for the medals. Keselj had bad luck on this WC, on the last preparation game just couple of days before WC Keselj twisted ankle and coach Nikolic couldn't count on him a lot in the first three games. But on the most important game for Serbian NT so far on WC against France Keselj made fantastic return despite on the other side his opponent was top European prospect Nicolas Batum. He led Serbia to this necessary win netting 18 points. Keselj played last season for Spanish Akasvayu Girona and with them won FIBA EuroCup.
However this is a big problem for head coach Miroslav Nikolic and Serbian U19 NT who will play today in the quarterfinal against Turkey at 18:00h. |
