Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cameroonian players, who play currently abroad.
The list of other players, who all have Cameroonian passport but never been selected to any of Cameroonian national teams: #1. Gedeon Pitard (188-G-89, currently plays in France), who plays in the French ProA could not help one of league's weakest teams STB Le Havre (2-2) to beat Strasbourg IG (3-1). He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. STB Le Havre was defeated 63-59 on the road by the higher-ranked Strasbourg IG (#5). But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Pitard's sixth year with the team. This season Pitard averages: 3.8ppg and 3.0rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Cameroonian and French. Despite Pitard's Cameroonian passport, he previously played for the French U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Cameroonian team. #2. Talba Toudjani (201-F-80, currently plays in Georgia) managed to help Energy Invest Rustavi in a victory against the ninth-ranked Samedicino-Academia (0-2) crushing them 79-57 in the Georgian Superleague on Friday night. Toudjani scored only 3 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 22 minutes. Energy Invest Rustavi (0-0) is placed in the Superleague. It's Toudjani's first season with the team. Toudjani is currently seventh on the list of best rebounders with 8.0rpg. This year his other stats are: 2.5ppg and 1.5spg in the two games he played so far. #3. Serge Angounou (202-F-83, agency: SDJ Sports, college: Arizona St., currently plays in Japan), who plays in the Japanese BJ League was not able to help Chiba Jets (1-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Angounou's good performance Chiba Jets (#10) were defeated 83-76 at home by the second-ranked Shinshu BW in the Eastern group. He scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Angounou's stats this season are: 11.2ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg. #4. Saidou Njoya (186-PG-89, currently plays in France) contributed to a JSF Nanterre's victory against the closely-ranked Paris-Levallois (2-2) 81-77 in the French ProA on Friday night. He recorded only 2 points and added 4 passes in 16 minutes. JSF Nanterre (2-2) is placed tenth in the ProA. This year Njoya's overall stats are: 0.5ppg and 1.8apg in the four games. #5. Experienced Claude-Didier Njoya Nken (185-PG-75, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Spot Up Medien Baskets (2-3) in their game against SG Schwelmer Baskets (5-0) in the German ProB (third division). He scored 6 points and added 3 assists. Spot Up Medien Baskets (#8) was defeated 80-71 in Schwelm by the second-ranked SG er Baskets in the Group North. Rudolf Mua (201-F/C-80, currently plays in Finland) helped Kerava Energia Team win their game against the fifth-ranked KaU Koris 68-60 in the Finnish 1st Division (second division) on Friday night. He scored 8 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Mua is currently fourth on the list of best blockers. He has individually a very good season with high stats. #11. Former international center David Collins (213-85, college: Bradley, currently plays in Slovenia) helped Elektra win their game against the eighth-ranked LTHcast Mercator crushing them 77-45 in the Slovenian Telemach League in Saturday night's game. Collins scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in only 14 minutes. Collins belongs to league's best rebounders (ranked #3) and also on the list of best blockers (third place). He has very solid stats this year: 11.0ppg, 11.0rpg and 2.0bpg in the two games. Collins used to play for the Canadian national team three years ago. #12. Former U21 international forward Henry Bekkering (198-85, college: E.Washington, currently plays in Holland) helped M.Magixx win their game against the closely-ranked Groningen 83-64 in the Dutch Eredivisie last Sunday. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Bekkering's total stats this season are: 5.5ppg and 2.3rpg. He used to play for the Canadian U21 national team back in 2004. #13. Former international center Scott Morrison (212-86, college: Portland St., currently plays in Germany) faced previously mentioned Jermaine Bucknor in the German BBL last game. Morrison, who plays in the German BBL was not able to secure a victory for Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (0-0) in their last game. Despite his good performance Eisbaeren Bremerhaven was badly defeated 72-55 in Trier by the lower-ranked (#4) TBB Trier. Morrison was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 33 minutes. Morrison has reliable stats this year: 11.7ppg and 4.3rpg in the six games. He used to play for the Canadian national team three years ago. #14. Former international power forward Sean Denison (211-85, also represented by Interperformances, college: Santa Clara, currently plays in Russia) helped Ataman win their game against the sixth-ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda 75-64 in the Russian Superleague (second division) on Saturday night. Denison recorded 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. It was his first game for Ataman this season. He used to play for the Canadian national team back in 2007. #15. Former University international forward Jacob Doerksen (200-87, currently plays in Germany) helped SC Rasta Vechta win their game against the second-ranked BV Chemnitz 99 85-66 in the German ProA (second division) last Saturday. He scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Doerksen's total stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.3spg. He used to play for the Canadian university national team three years ago. Jasonn Hannibal (210-C-88, college: Portland, currently plays in Slovenia), who plays in the Slovenian Telemach League could not help Polzela (1-1) in their last game. Despite Hannibal's good performance Polzela was crushed 79-55 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) Maribor Messer. He had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 13 rebounds. Hannibal also added 3 blocks in 31 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Hannibal is currently second on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of best blockers (first place). This year he has very good stats: 11.5ppg, 11.0rpg, 3.0bpg and 1.5spg in the two games he played so far. #2. Kyle Johnson (195-G-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA was not able to help Sutor Montegranaro (1-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Johnson's good performance the bottom-ranked Sutor Montegranaro was defeated 80-74 in Cremona by the higher-ranked Vanoli (#10). He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Johnson also added 8 rebounds. Johnson's total stats this season are: 7.4ppg and 3.4rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and British. #3. Robbie Sihota (198-F-87, currently plays in Holland) was not able to secure a victory for M.Magixx (3-2) in their game against Den Bosch (4-0) in the Dutch Eredivisie. Sihota recorded 9 points. But M.Magixx was defeated 77-68 at home by the leading Den Bosch. Sihota averaged so far 12.6ppg and 6.6rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Indian and Canadian. #4. Sefton Barrett (196-SF-83, agency: Limelight Hoops, college: Cent.Michigan, currently plays in Finland) couldn't help KTP-Basket (4-3) in their game against Tampereen Pyrinto (0-0) in the Finnish Korisliiga. Barrett scored 7 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 36 minutes. KTP-Basket lost 70-80 in Tampere to the much higher-ranked en Pyrinto. Barrett belongs to league's best blockers and is ranked #3 with 1.4bpg. This year he also averages: 15.7ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg in the seven games. #5. Stephen Sir (195-G-82, college: N.Arizona, currently plays in Romania) contributed to a CSM Bucuresti's victory against the 13th-ranked Timba Timosoara (1-4) 91-84 in the Romanian Division A in Friday night's game. Sir scored 10 points in 16 minutes. CS Municipal Bucuresti (3-2) is placed ninth in the Division A. This year Sir's total stats are: 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.3apg in the three games. #6. Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in Poland) couldn't help Anwil in their game against Energa Czarni in the Polish TBL. Wright scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 18 points 82-64. This year Wright's total stats are: 7.2ppg and 3.4rpg in the five games. #7. Alex Johnson (178-PG-88, agency: I.D.S. Law, college: N.Carolina St., currently plays in Romania) faced previously mentioned Stephen Sir in the Romanian Division A last game. Troy Gottselig (203-F-87, currently plays in Czech Republic) couldn't help Levice in their game against USK Praha in the Czech Republic NBL. He scored 9 points in 20 minutes. His team lost 78-84. Gottselig's stats this year are: 11.6ppg and 3.7rpg in the seven games. #9. Bubnic scored 6 points. His team was defeated 75-71. Bubnic's total stats this season are: 4.0ppg and 1.5rpg. He used to play for the Croatian U20 national team six years ago. #12. Former international center Mario Kasun (213-80, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Angelico Biella crushing them 81-56 in the Italian SerieA in Monday night's game. He was the top player that evening. Barac scored 20 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. BCM U Pitesti (3-3) is placed 11th in the Division A. This season Barac has very high stats. Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Czechs who are currently playing abroad.
The list of other players, who all have Czech Republic passport but never been selected to any of Czech Republic national teams: #1. Robert Skibniewski (183-PG-83, currently plays in Poland) led AZS Koszalin to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Polpharma (2-3) crushing them 86-64 in the Polish TBL in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points and added 7 assists in 27 minutes. AZS Koszalin (3-2) is placed fifth in the TBL. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Skibniewski is currently second on the league's list of best passers with 6.6apg. He also averaged so far 9.0ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.6spg in the five games he played so far. #2. David Steffel (212-C/F-85, currently plays in Romania), who plays in the Romanian Division A could not help Rovinari (3-2) in their last game on Monday. Despite Steffel's very good performance Rovinari was defeated 75-65 on the road by the higher-ranked Ploiesti (#8). He was the top scorer with 19 points. Steffel also added 8 rebounds. Deleon was the best player in that game. He recorded 23 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Wollongong Hawks (4-0) are placed first in the NBL. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Deleon's first year with the team.
