Jason Kapono (201-SF-81, college: UCLA) agreed financial terms according to most of the Greek media the last few hours, with the Greek power house Panathinaikos Athens just few hours before the most crucial game in the Euroleague for the Greens of Coach Argiris Pedoulakis . Jason Kapono and Panathinaikos Athens were in talks the last few days as the Greens were looking to add a player to their roster following their recent negative results.
The 31-year-old American small forward spent nine years in he NBA playing for six different teams during that time, Los Angeles Clippers being the most recent.
Kapono, an excellent three-point shooter, is expected to bring a scoring threat that Panathinaikos Athens was missing. The Greens are just 18th in Euroleague in 3-point shooting percentage with 30.5%.
In 2007 the American small forward was NBA three-point field goal percentage leader with 51.4%. That was also his best season in terms of scoring as he averaged 10.9 points per game.
Panathinaikos Athens currently find themselves in 5th place in Group A in Euroleague with a 2-3 record and tonight is actually playing against Real Madrid the most crucial game of the season.

Panathinaikos Athens (A1) is close to add to their roster 31-year old American forward Jason Kapono (201-98kg-81, college: UCLA) who played last time at Los Angeles Lakers. In 26 NBA games last season he recorded just 2.1ppg.
The previous (10-11) season Kapono played at the 76ers in NBA. But in 14 games last year he averaged only 1.1ppg.
In 2003 he was drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) in second round (31st overall). Kapono attended Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles and it may be his tenth season in pro basketball.
He won NBA Southeast Division championship title for two years in a row (2006 and 2007).

2. BARCELONA (5-0): Barcelona isn't super, but plays every night for 8/10. That is very important for this period..

3. REAL MADRID (4-1): Has the potential to be much better in a month, especially if they solve the problem in the 5 spot..

4. MACCABI TEL AVIV (5-0): David Blatt presents a modern competitive team with lower budget. Fresh legs, very good ball-movement the main features of Maccabis effective offense. However, the groups level helps a little bit..

- ANADOLU EFES (3-2): Mahmuti gave direction to Anadolu's game but the Turkish have to reduce their ups & downs in a 40-minute game. Farmar justifies his salary and puts a serious candidate for the season's MVP.

10. UNICAJA (4-1): Best rebounding team in the league.. Not bad. But, it will be a surprise if Unicaja continues like this..

11. OLYMPIAKOS (3-2): The champs bought time, winning in Milano, to work and put Powell in their game. Great performance from Kyle Hines.

-PANATHINAIKOS (2-3): Panathinaikos faces some problems at the moment. First of all, the Greens are the team with the most mistakes in the contest. There are first at 2pt % (targeting Schortsanitis in the paint) they receive many fouls but they are last in FT%.. Panathinaikos needs two players now and thats the reason they are on the market..

-CANTU (2-3): Trinchieri needs immediately a point guard. Cantu plays better in the last games. Great performance from Aradori..

14. EMPORIO ARMANI (2-3): EA7 is until now the Euroleague's underachiever.. Big investment, bad coaching.. The worst thing is that Scariolo has lost his players's trust..

15. ALBA BERLIN (2-3): Good work from Obradovic. Alba show declining odds the last couple of weeks but they are still in the game..

-MONTEPASCHI SIENA (2-3): They could be easily in 1-4 or 4-1.. Best offense in the league. Montepaschi needs a dominant undersized 5, since Ress gives his best but he is not a center. This night was an especially great night for the American guard Jason Conley (196-81, college: Missouri, agency: Warren Sports International) who led his team to a victory scoring 46 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Matthew Gibson helped adding 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Chris Hester (192-79, college: E.Washington) responded with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Montepaschi improved at 3-3 record, while ALBA fell at 2-4 in Group B. You are playing your first season in the Beko BBL after stops in Iceland and Finland. How do you like the Beko BBL?

I like this league very much. I took a big jump and took advantage of this opportunity. I hope that I am able to show my talent in this league.

The Beko BBL is a tougher league than what you saw in Iceland and Finland. You have had agood start, but what still gives you problems on the court in the Beko BBL?

The level is very high in Germany. You have to play hard every game and have to respect every player. If you strat to slack then you will pay for that.

What is your role on the team?

I have to be active and bring energy. I also focus on defense and try to make the big defensive plays get steals that lead to easy baskets. I also am there to defend the best players and make them work for their points. My offense will come from that.

Who could be the key MBC player this season?

I think that it could be Devon Uskowski. He does a great job spreading the floor. When he is on hitting his three pointer than he spreads the floor and makes it easier for our guards to penetrate.

Your former head coach Milian Brown at Mount saint Marys told you that in order to reach the top, you have had to had lows. What meaningful thing has MBC head coach Silvano Poropat told you?

He has told me that players form strong teams are just like us. They do the same thing that we do. What he means by this is that we have to go into each game believing that we can win. I think that we can upset good teams, because we can play as a team for 40 minutes.

You had eight offensive rebounds against the Fraport Skyliners. Besides your long arms, what is your secret to dominating the offensive boards?

Just being active and never quitting on the play. I always want to make something happen on the glass. I always try to act on the bounce off the rim. I use my athletic ability to my advantage from the three position.

On what things do you still need to work on on your game?

Being patient and letting the game come to me instead of going out to the game.

How much does the play of Sharoud Curry impress you?

He impresses me in every practice. He has complete control of the team. He demands so much from the offense and is a great leader.

You are from Virginia beach, Virgina. Were you a beach bum as a kid?

Yes I was always at the beach and am still today when I am home.

Who were your NBA idols?

Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson and today it is Lebron James.

To what NBA player would you compare your game too?

I would compare my game to Scottie Pippen. He was known for his defense. On offense he could shoot the three and always made things happen. My goal is to play like him.

What was your sweetest memory winning the 2008 NEC tournament?

Just winning that whole season and battling with my teammates to be successful.

When you came to play in Iceland, why did you have concern of not being to play in Europe?

I always have confidence in my basketball abilities, but what I meant was that I came to Europe not knowing anything and didnt know what to expect

You like to read book about athletes. What books have you liked the most?

I read the book about the Fab 5 from Michigan. I also read a book about head coach Phil Jackson. I like to read books where people havent had an easy road and had to work hard to achieve something. What they have done is something I can relate to.

Who wins a one on one you or Devin Uskowski?

I have to say me. I would win with my speed and athletic ability. We have never played though.

What were the most free throws that you made in a row?

23 or 24 in a row.

What was your most crazy shot that went in?

In high school I made a360 lay up to win the game at the buzzer.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

I usually sleep on the buss, but it was the Avengers.

The ifm baskets Konstanz have strengthened their backcourt by adding Justin Archie (187-PG-88, college: Lindsey Wilson) to their roster. Archie transfers from Slovakia to Germany. The 23-year-old from Los Angeles, California, started this current season with Slovakian Extraliga team BK Iskra Svit, but left in October. He played three games for Svit, averaging 8.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4 assists per contest.
Archie spent his college career at West Los Angeles Community College, NCAA D1 school University of New Orleans and NAIA program Lindsey Wilson. As a senior he had 7.6 points, 4.7 assists and 4.0 boards per game for the Blue Raiders in the 2011-12 season.

Panathinaikos Athens (A1) is close to add to their roster 31-year old American forward Jason Kapono (201-98kg-81, college: UCLA) who played last time at Los Angeles Lakers. In 26 NBA games last season he recorded just 2.1ppg.
The previous (10-11) season Kapono played at the 76ers in NBA. But in 14 games last year he averaged only 1.1ppg.
In 2003 he was drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) in second round (31st overall). Kapono attended Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles and it may be his tenth season in pro basketball.
He won NBA Southeast Division championship title for two years in a row (2006 and 2007).
Kapono was also voted All-Rebook Rocky Mountain Revenue 1st Team back in 2004.
He has played also professionally in NBA (Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Bobcats).

Panathinaikos celebrated the third win in Euroleague Group A. They held off visiting Real in Athens tonight. Stephane Lasme (203-F-82, college: Massachusetts) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds to pace the hosts.
Real Madrid enjoyed a 16:12 lead ten minutes into the game. But Panathinaikos turned things around in the second quarter. The Athens team unloaded 30 points in the second frame and gained a 42:35 halftime advantage. Panathinaikos maintained the lead throughout the third quarter. The hosts boosted the distance to 13 points with ten minutes remaining. Real got within 7 points midway through the fourth stanza but Panathinaikos stayed calm and executed the victory to perfection. Andy Panko (205-F-77, agency: Beo Basket, college: Lebanon Valley) had 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Jonas Maciulis (199-F/G-85) added 12 points for the home side. Sanaye Petrochimi Mahshahr (Superleague) added to their roster 29-year old Lithuanian ex-international center Povilas Cukinas (210-103kg-83). He just played at Vendee Challans Basket in French NM1 league. In only one game this season he recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
Cukinas has played also professionally in Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg and Walter Tigers), Italy (Cantu), Latvia (Barons kvartals) and Lithuania (Zalgiris, LSU-Baltai, Rudupis and Marciulionis BS).


Mahram hire coach Becirovic - by Eurobasket News

Mahram Tehran (Superleague) have agreed on terms of contract with 51-year old Slovenian coach Mehmed Becirovic. He coached most recently the Iranian National Team. Previously he worked at Telenet Oostende in Belgian Ethias League.
Becirovic won Ukrainian Superleague championship title in 2008.
He was selected to Coach Assistant: Adriatic League All-Star Game back in 2008.
Becirovic was coaching Slovenian Senior National Team two years ago, and coached also U20 National Team between 1999 and 2002.
He has coached previously professionally in Italy and Slovenia (Union Olimpija Ljubljana).

Will Hanley (200-G/F-90, agency: Duran International, college: Bowdoin, currently plays in Spain) led Oviedo CB to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Lan Mobel ISB (3-1) crushing them 79-57 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting the same number of rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Hanley's first season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Oviedo Club Baloncesto (3-1) is placed second in the LEB Silver. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night McCrory scored 16 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. McCrory is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Starwings' roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 3.3apg. McCrory is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Irish.    #4. Yaniv Strauss (190-F-92, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Kazrin/Galil in a victory against the closely-ranked Elitzur Ramla crushing them 98-74 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night. Maccabi Electra entered the game undefeated but knew about the strength of the visiting team. The Israeli team won the first period 21-17, but lost the second frame 16-21. Montepaschi improved at 3-3 record, while ALBA fell at 2-4 in Group B. Daniel Daniel Hackett (200-PG-87, agency: Two Points, college: USC) sank a jumper with 14 seconds left in regulation to seal the victory for Montepaschi.
Montepaschi started the game confidently. The Italian champions posted a 21:17 lead after ten minutes. The visitors maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. They accounted for a 39:34 halftime lead. Montepaschi extended their lead to 14 points midway through the third frame. But the hosts restored the intrigue. They cut the margin to 8 points at the final intermission 52:60. Djedovic and Idbihi put the hosts in front 61:60 midway through the final frame. The lead changed hands for several times before DeShaun Wood made it 73:70 for ALBA with just over two minutes remaining. But Thomas Ress tied things up at 73 from the penalty line. He could not help Partizan (6-2) in their last game. Despite Bertans' very good performance Partizan lost 78-92 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#4) Zvezda. Round 3 of the Lebanese League started with two games , first one in Amchit joined Amchit to Hoops , Amchit the team that created a big surprise in the previous round by beating the Champion Champville , The game saw the participation of Ersid Lujca from Hoops, The game was very exciting the two teams battled from the first minutes , Hoops was leading the first five minutes 12-9 but Amchit regained the momentum and took the Lead at the half through Austin Johnson and Matt Freije, Ersid Lujca from Hoops was having a great game despite coming from an Injury , the score at the half was 34-32 for the home team. The second half saw scenario continued with a small advantage for the home team who was increasing the lead but Hoops was coming back and reducing the difference , the game saw Amchit securing the win in the last minutes on the score of 73-65. This win is the 3rd consecutive for the new comer Amchit , Hoops who won in the previous round vs Anibal is expected to progress more . Cedevita and Zalgiris went through a double-overtime marathon to decide on the winner in EuroLeague Group C tonight. Cedevita eventually came out winners in Zagreb. Mickael Gelabale (201-SF-83, agency: Three Eye Sports) nailed 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to pace the hosts to the second win at the tournament. Zalgiris suffered their first defeat and slipped at 5-1 record.
Zalgiris looked the dominant force in this one early in the game. The Kaunas team accumulated a 28:19 lead ten minutes into the game. But Cedevita turned things around in the next two periods. The hosts denied the deficit and pulled ahead for a 63:60 lead at the third break. Zalgiris erased the distance and Darden put the visitors ahead 82:80 with 46 seconds remaining. Marko Popovic (185-G-82, agency: Alti Sport, college: S.Idaho JC) sank three free throws to ensure an 85:82 lead for the visitors with 9 seconds remaining. But Bracey Wright (191-G-84, agency: Priority Sports, college: Indiana) drilled a three-pointer and sent the game into overtime. Jankunas gave Zalgiris a 96:93 lead with 31 seconds to go in the first extra period. Darden followed with a free throw as Zalgiris seemed on the way to their victory 97:93. However Bracey Wright nailed two free throws and then Ilievski dropped a three-point bomb following free throws from Kaukenas to put Cedevita within one 98:99. Marko Popovic hit just one free throw and Mickael Gelabale dunked for a 100:100 tie game at the end of the first overtime. Zalgiris jumped ahead once again early in the second extra period. Bracey Wright and Ilievski gave a decisive lead for Cedevita and the hosts then kept Zalgiris scoreless for more then three minutes to win the battle. Bracey Wright sank 20 points, while Predrag Suput (200-F-77, agency: Beo Basket) fired 18 points for the hosts. Darjus Lavrinovic (212-C-79) answered with 24 points for Zalgiris. Marko Popovic had 19 points in the loss.

Donatas Motiejunas assigned to Rio Grande Valley Vipers - by Eurobasket News

Rio Grande Valley Vipers brought in 22-year old Lithuanian ex-international power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-101kg-90, agency: Interperformances). He just played at Houston Rockets in the NBA. In only one game this season he recorded 3 points. The last season he also played at Asseco Prokom Gdynia in Polish TBL. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and Motiejunas was exposed to basketball on different levels. In 25 TBL games last year he had very impressive stats: 15.7ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.4spg. He helped them to win the league title and they also played in the supercup final. Quite impressive season as he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Polish League Bosman Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and named to 1st Team. Motiejunas also played 10 games in Euroleague where he recorded 12.5ppg and 7.9rpg. He also played 16 games in VTB United League where he recorded 13.4ppg and 7.5rpg. Motiejunas also spent pre-season at Benetton Treviso in Italian SerieA earlier that year.
Last year he was drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves (NBA) in first round (20th overall).
Motiejunas was voted Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LKL Most Improved Player of the Year back in 2009.
He was also a member of Lithuanian international program for some years. Motiejunas played for Lithuanian Senior National Team between 2010 and 2011 and previously for U20 National Team between 2009 and 2010. He also represented Lithuania at the World Championships U19 in New Zealand three years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 17.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 2.7apg, 1.2bpg, FGP: 58.1%, 3PT: 60.4%, FT: 50.0%.
Motiejunas has played also professionally in Lithuania (Zalgiris, LSU-Baltai and Zalgiris-Sabonio).

Sanaye Petrochimi Mahshahr (Superleague) added to their roster 29-year old Lithuanian ex-international center Povilas Cukinas (210-103kg-83). He just played at Vendee Challans Basket in French NM1 league. In only one game this season he recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.
Cukinas has played also professionally in Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg and Walter Tigers), Italy (Cantu), Latvia (Barons kvartals) and Lithuania (Zalgiris, LSU-Baltai, Rudupis and Marciulionis BS).

He was the major contributor in a Real Madrid's victory against the closely-ranked Gescrap BB (5-2) 98-84 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. The Lithuanian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international point guard Mantas Kalnietis (195-86, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Russia). Kalnietis led Lokomotiv to an easy victory against the league leader Enisey Krasnoyarsk crushing them 93-64 in the Russian PBL on Sunday night. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and making 11 passes. Kalnietis also added 4 rebounds in 28 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Lokomotiv Kuban (3-3) is placed second in the PBL. Kalnietis is ranked sixth on the list of the best passers in the league with 3.0apg. Center Jonas Valanciunas (211-92, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Linas Kleiza. However that was another game of his team in NBA which brought him to that list. Valanciunas contributed to a 2-point Toronto Raptors' victory against the Indiana Pacers (3-6) 74-72. He scored 9 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Center Michailis Anisimovas (214-84, currently plays in Eurocup) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dainius Salenga. But that was another game of his team in Eurocup we would like to talk about. Anisimovas contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Rudupis (1-1) crushing them 84-57. He scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Budivelnyk Kyiv (1-1) is placed second in the Eurocup. Anisimovas is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Budivelnyk's roster. Anisimovas' total stats this season are: 9.0ppg and 4.0rpg. He was the best player in that game. Zabas scored 21 points in 23 minutes. Zabas is currently third on the list of top scorers with 18.4ppg. This year he also averages: 3.0rpg and 2.8apg in the eight games. Zabas used to play for the Lithuanian U20 national team back in 2008.    #15. Former international power forward Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83, currently plays in VTB United League) managed to help Krasnie Krilya Samara in a victory against the seventh-ranked BC Donetsk 64-59 in the VTB United League in Saturday night's game. He scored only 4 points in 15 minutes. Lydeka has averaged so far 8.8ppg and 2.8rpg in the five games. He used to play for the Lithuanian national team six years ago. Benas Veikalas (192-G-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Germany) led Telekom Baskets to a victory against the league leader ratiopharm Ulm (7-2) 107-103 in the German BBL on Saturday night. Veikalas scored 16 points in 31 minutes. Telekom Baskets Bonn (4-3) is placed ninth in the BBL. This year Veikalas' total stats are: 8.1ppg and 2.0rpg in the seven games he played so far.    #3. Arturas Masiulis (210-C-80, currently plays in United Kingdom) led Worcester Wolves to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Cheshire Jets (2-6) 97-84 in the British BBL in Saturday night's game. CSKA Moscow eke out Lietuvos Rytas at Siemens Arena in the start of the Round 6 in EuroLegaue. The Russian team improved to 5-1 record after 72:61 victory. Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius meanwhile feel at 1-5 record in Group D.
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius started with 16-14 and also scored 16 points in the second frame. It was not however enough to seal the win in the first half as the guests replied with 19 points and led 1 point at the halftime. Moreover the second half belonged to the Russian Champion. CSKA won the third period 20-14 and finished the game with 18-16.
Sonny Weems (198-G/F-86, college: Arkansas) stepped up with 19 points and Milos Teodosic (195-PG-87) delivered 13. Sasha Kaun (211-C-85) poured in 11, while Viktor Khryapa (203-F-82) added 7. Pieno Zvaigzdes tastes another victories in Baltic league and improved to 5-0 record. The team needed two victories over the Estonian sides to continue their winning streak.
Parnu was beaten by Pieno Zvaigzdes 68:72. The best player for the winners was TreVon Hughes (183-PG-87, agency: Edge Sports, college: Wisconsin) who scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Yancy Gates (206-F-89, college: Cincinnati) chipped in 16 points. Rain Raadik (208-C-89) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Augustas Peciukevicius added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts.
The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Estonian Kalev/Cramo in Tallinn on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Lithuanian Pieno Zvaigzdes 79:73. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 6 points. Yancy Gates orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. TreVon Hughes contributed with 17 points for the winners. Frank Elegar (208-C-86, college: Drexel) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Keith McLeod (190-PG-79, college: Bowling Green) added 14 points in the effort for Kalev/Cramo.
Nevezis meanwhile overcame Barons kvartals 86:64 and Lietkabelis edged Jelgava 87:80.

Mexican All-Stars - Import All-Stars 101:108

LNBP All-Star Game was held in Tampico. The Import All-Stars clinched an exciting victory at the end. Rodney Alexander (201-F-87, college: Oklahoma City) knocked down 19 points to lead the effort. LeRoy Hickerson (196-G-82, college: Cumberlands) added 17 points and was named All-Star Game MVP.
Imports selection started strong. They jumped to a 32:26 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the lead throughout the second frame. Imports enjoyed a 63:54 halftime lead. They kept the Mexican selection at distance throughout the third quarter. The Import All-Stars entered the final period up by 12 points 85:73. Mexican players narrowed the gap midway through the final stanza but Imports stepped on the gas in the final moments and sealed the winning outcome. Jason Horton (188-G-86, college: Missouri) and Eugene Phelps (198-F, college: Long Beach St.) netted 16 points each for the winners. Lorenzo Mata (205-C-86) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds for Mexican All-Stars. Noe Alonzo (200-F-83, college: Grand Canyon) had 15 points in the loss.

After the first month of Balkan league new season the newcomer from Montenegro, Teodo Tivat, is the most pleasent surprise in the League with 3-0 record. The ambitious club from Southern Montenegro won its first three home games against OKK Beograd, Kozuv and Kavala and today they broke another record. According to eurobasket.com and its calculations, in the last Round of Balkan League Teodo had five players on Top 10 list. The MVP is Kumanovo's Ivica Dimcevski (194-G/F-89, agency: Interperformances) who had and extraordinary performance against Levski Sophia (29 points, 7 rebounds), but he is followed by two Teodo's players: Aleksandar Radulovic (207-C-84) (18 pts , 8 rebounds and 3 assists) and Manuel Johnson (201-F-83, agency: Court Side, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) Minnesota Timberwolves strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old forward Josh Howard (198-95kg-80, college: Wake Forest). He played last season at Utah Jazz. In 47 NBA games last year he recorded 8.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.1apg.
The previous (10-11) season Howard played at the Wizards. In 18 NBA games he averaged 8.4ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg.
In 2003 he was drafted by Dallas Mavericks in first round (29th overall). The former Wake Forest University standout is in his tenth season in pro basketball.

LeBron James (6'8''-SF-84) had 27 points and 12 assists, and the short-handed Miami Heat ended a decade-long drought in Denver with a 98-93 win over the Nuggets on Thursday night. Shane Battier (6'8''-F-78, college: Duke) added 18 points - all on 3-pointers - in the Heat's first win at Denver since Jan. 29, 2002, a streak of 10 straight losses. Every other NBA team has won at the Pepsi Center during that span. The Heat nearly blew a 19-point second-half lead but held on despite being without Dwyane Wade (foot) and Mario Chalmers, who went to the bench after just 7 minutes with a strained right triceps. Andre Miller (6'2''-PG-76, college: Utah) had 19 points and Kenneth Faried (6'8''-F-89, college: Morehead St.) led the Nuggets with 16 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. Ty Lawson, who is averaging 13.5 points, didn't score. Lawson would have given Denver its first lead of the night with 5:35 remaining, but his basket was waived off when he was whistled for an offensive foul for running over Battier. Coming off a loss to the Clippers 24 hours earlier, the Heat looked primed for a letdown at altitude but instead never trailed in beating Denver for the second time in two weeks. Ray Allen, who had the go-ahead four-point play with 6.7 seconds left in a 119-116 win over Denver in Miami on Nov. 3, sank a 3-pointer just before halftime that gave the Heat a 54-42 lead at the break after committing just two turnovers. The Heat went up 70-51 on back-to-back 3s by Mike Miller and Battier and still led 79-66 heading into the fourth quarter. The Nuggets cut the Heat's lead to one point on a couple of occasions - but kept blowing chances to go ahead. JaVale McGee had 18 points, including a hook shot after getting the inbounds with just 0.4 seconds left on the shot clock that made it 79-74, and the Nuggets chipped away until Andre Miller's three-point play pulled Denver to 85-84. That's when Lawson had a breakaway and as the crowd cheered what it thought was Denver's first lead of the night, his foul negated the bucket and James scored at the other end. After missing two free throws, Faried made two, pulling Denver to 92-89. Andre Iguodala's two foul shots at 1:37 made it a one-point game again. Allen missed a 3, but Danilo Gallinari rushed a long-range 3-pointer with about 15 seconds left on the shot clock that missed the basket by several feet. Norris Cole made the Nuggets pay with a 3-pointer at the other end for a 95-91 lead with under a minute left. Gallinari then mistakenly let the ball go out of bounds at midcourt, giving possession back to Miami, and James sank two free throws with 23 seconds left to ice it. Wade was held out because of a sprained left foot a night after scoring just six points - well below his 18.4-point average - in Miami's 107-100 loss to the Clippers. Smith (6'6''-G-85) added 17 points, Jason Kidd had 14 and Tyson Chandler 13 for the Knicks (6-0), who closed on a 22-11 run to remain the NBA's lone unbeaten team. Tony Parker (6'2''-PG-82) led San Antonio (7-2) with 19 points and 12 assists. Kawhi Leonard (6'7''-F-91, college: San Diego St.) added 16 points and Tim Duncan had 14 points and 14 rebounds. Smith and Kidd hit consecutive 3-pointers to give the Knicks a 100-95 lead with a minute left. San Antonio missed seven of its last nine shots and had two turnovers in the final 2 minutes. The Spurs had won 18 of 19 regular-season games against New York. The late defensive push offset an uncharacteristic start by the Knicks. After holding their first five opponents to 87.8 points per game, the Knicks allowed the Spurs to set a quick tone when Danny Green opened with consecutive backdoor layups off assists from Parker and Duncan. Paul Pierce (6'7''-F/G-77, college: Kansas) had 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists as the Boston Celtics fell to the Brooklyn Nets, 102-97, in their first meeting at the Barclays Center on Thursday night in Brooklyn, NY. Brooklyn opened up the half scoring at will and moving the ball effectively, while taking a 13-point lead. With the game slipping away, Boston used a 16-2 run to get back into the game led by their captain, Pierce. The veteran forward had 11 in the the third as the Celtics took their first lead of the night, 73-71, with just under four minutes remaining in the quarter. Despite their defensive anchor, Kevin Garnett, resting throughout the end of the third, Boston finished off a 20-2 run to close the quarter, leading 79-74. Brooklyn would use a 9-2 run in the fourth quarter to take a two-point lead with just over three minutes to go in the game thanks to a Joe Johnson bucket. Jeff Green made a huge play on the defensive end, forcing a travel with Boston down four, only to come back and hit a monster trey with under a minute remaining to cut the lead to one. The Nets would hit free throws at the other end, taking a three-point lead with 43 seconds remaining. Pierce had a shot to cut the deficit to one, but missed both attempts at the charity stripe, allowing the Nets to notch free throws at the other end and close out the night. Raymond Felton scored a season-high 25 points to go with seven assists and Jason Kidd hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as visiting New York rallied to snap a nine-game losing streak at San Antonio and remain the NBA's only undefeated team. San Antonio (7-2) led 89-77 with seven minutes left and still had a 93-87 advantage with 4:28 to go before New York took control with a 15-2 run. J.R. Smith's 3-pointer put the Knicks ahead 97-95 with 1:47 left, and Kidd hit a 3 on the next possession to make it a five-point lead. Kidd scored nine of his 14 points in the fourth quarter. The Knicks (6-0) won in spite of a rough night for star Carmelo Anthony, who entered the day averaging a league-best 26.8 points but was limited to nine points on 3-of-12 shooting. The bench picked up the slack with 34 points led by Smith with 17 and Rasheed Wallace with 10. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Spurs, who had a chance to lay claim to the league's best record. Tony Parker led San Antonio with 19 points and 12 assists, and Tim Duncan had 14 points and 14 rebounds for his 736th career double-double, the most among active players.

Washington Wizards added to their roster 27-year old guard Shaun Livingston (201-85kg-85). Its actually his comeback to the Wizards as he played here before. Livingston already started the season at Houston Rockets. The last season he also played at the Bucks. In 57 NBA games last year he recorded 5.6ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.1apg.
The previous (10-11) season Livingston played at the Bobcats. In 73 NBA games he averaged 6.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.2apg.
In 2004 he was drafted by Los Angeles Clippers as #4 pick overall. Livingston has never attended the college and entered pro basketball just after his high school.
Livingston was selected to McDonalds All-American All-Star Game back in 2004.

Eddie Smith (6'2''-G-83, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC, college: Ill.-Springfield) is gone. For how long, the Halifax Rainmen have no idea. Lost in the shuffle of head coach Cliff Levingstons surprise dismissal on Tuesday, the Rainmen placed Smith on the injured reserve list and signed former Premier Basketball League MVP Quinnel Brown (6'6''-F-83, college: Auburn) to take his spot on the roster. Smith was flown back to London, Ont., where he played last season, to have a doctor there examine his troublesome right knee. Andre Levingston, the Rainmen president and CEO, said he doesnt know when or even if the all-star guard will return. It could be a couple weeks, it could be the season, we really dont know, Levingston said Wednesday. When he plays on his knee, it just blows up, so he needs to go find what the problem really is. The 29-year-old, acquired with considerable fanfare during training camp, scored 27 points and logged 43 minutes in the Rainmen's season-opening loss to Windsor. But he netted only nine points in 27 minutes of action the following night against London and hasnt played since, missing three straight games. Smith has already had the knee drained of fluid twice this season and, Levingston said, told the Rainmen boss hed had the same procedure performed on two occasions last year. He hasnt been healthy for a while, Levingston said. Before he left London, they had told me that he had got his knee scoped. He did tell me that he was healthy when he arrived here, but a week later we had to take him to the doctor to get his knee drained. Brown, a six-foot-six small forward, was the PBLs MVP in 2010-11, when he averaged 21.2 points per game with the Quebec Kebs. He returned to the Kebs for seven games late last season in the National Basketball League of Canada but his effectiveness was limited by a hand injury. Brown was to arrive in Halifax on Wednesday night and Levingston said hell be in the lineup when the Rainmen host the Moncton Miracles on Saturday afternoon. Assistant coach Colter Simmonds will guide the club through that game, though Levingston said he hoped to be able to announce the hiring of a new head coach before the weekend. The Rainmen, who broke camp with a young roster and only two returning players, have struggled to a 2-3 record while shooting only 38.5 per cent from the field, sixth in the eight-team loop. They were last in the NBL in turnover margin, committing 5.8 more giveaways per game than their opponent. Levingston cited philosophical differences and the teams disappointing performance when he announced Tuesday he was firing his first cousin, a veteran of 912 NBA contests, after only five games at the helm of the Rainmen.

London Lightning agreed terms with 28-year old Canadian ex-international guard Osvaldo Jeanty (183-84). He is a dual citizen owning also Haitian passport. Jeanty has played for the last two seasons at BBC Bayreuth in German BBL league. In 31 games last year he had 11.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.2apg.
His team won German 2.Bundesliga Pro A Regular Season in 2008.

Moncton Miracles waived 26-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) guard David Tairu (191-82kg-86, college: Texas Tech, agency: Pro One Sports). In three NBL Canada games he played this season he recorded just 2.3ppg and 1.0rpg.
The last season Tairu played at KR Reykjavik in Icelandic Dominos League. In 7 games last year he averaged impressive 21.4ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.7apg.
The previous (2011) summer he played at Dubai in Eurobasket S.League. In three ESL games he averaged impressive 23.0ppg, 8.7rpg and 4.0apg.
Tairu won NJCAA D1 championship title in 2008.
He graduated from Texas Tech University in 2011 and it is his second season in pro basketball.

Halifax Rainmen (NBL Canada) hired 49-year old American coach Rob Spon as the teams new head coach. He coached last season at Kebs de Laval (NBL Canada). His team made it to the NBL Canada Semifinals.
Spon was voted 2011 PBL Coach of the Year in 2011.
He has coached previously professionally in USA and CBA (Saskatchewan Hawks).

The London Lightning had their biggest offensive output in their existence Thursday night in a 153-115 defeat of the Power in Oshawa. The defending NBL champions came out and built an 80-51 first-half lead, the most points theyve scored in a half. They controlled the game from that point on to run their National Basketball League of Canada record to 3-0. We didnt take the foot off the gas, Lightning coach Micheal Ray Richardson said. Why would we? We want to be better than we were last year. We want to keep winning because we want home floor for the playoffs and that starts now. DeAnthony Bowden (6'1''-PG-80, college: Creighton) had a huge night for the Lightning. He scored 32 points and was six-of-10 from three-point range while dishing out eight assists. Jeremy Williams (6'7''-SF-87, college: UTEP) hit for 23 while Tim Ellis (6'4''-G-81, college: Kansas St.) had 20, Jermaine Blackburn (6'7''-G/F-83, college: Boise St.) 19 and Rodney Buford 15. Former Power player Morgan Lewis had 13 points but also had eight assists. Ellis also had a big night overall pulling down 10 rebounds and going nine-for-11 from the floor. William "Bo" Harris (6'7''-F-87, college: Miami Dade CC) topped the Power with 26. We have a lot of depth, more depth than we had last year, Richardson said. We go 12 deep and that gives us a big advantage. The Lightning shot almost 70% from the floor and 54% from three-point range. Im happy. I really happy with the way we played, Richardson said. But its only one game. Our goal is to keep getting better and better. We want to get better every game. We play like this one game. We want to play better the next game. Before the game, the Lightning released Josh Whyte, one of their Canadian players. Its to make room for Osvaldo Jeanty, who is expected to join the team once the league and FIBA clears his contract. The Lightning hope to have him in the lineup for their next game, Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Budweiser Gardens against the Montreal Jazz. Thats the night the Lightning will wear and auction off purple jerseys as part of the Shine the Light on Woman Abuse campaign. The Lighting are asking everyone attending to wear purple. After the Jazz game, the Lightning will lose Richardson for several days. He will leave Monday to go to Colorado to attend the funeral for his mother, who passed away Wednesday morning after a long battle with cancer. She was 80.

As we know Oruche began his professional career in 2010 first with the Portuguese League club Ginasio. A year later he moved to the Portuguese League club Acadmica. Named a top performer in his first game Oruche recorded an impressive 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Ginasio cruised to an 8675 win over Ovarense.

The 6-foot-4 shooting-guard has extremely soft hands as well as a wicked three point shot. Most importantly his is coachable having now played professional basketball in Portugal for the last two years.

Oruche averaged 15.4 points and 3.3 rebounds for Associacao Academica de Coimbra during the 201112 season.

He was invited to play with the Nigerian basketball team in 2012. The team defeated the Dominican Republic 8873 on July 8, 2012 to earn the countrys first-ever mens basketball berth into the Olympic Games.

Within the last week it was possible to observe few rotations in 1 liga team rosters.

First move made KS Spojnia Stargard Szczecinski. After last lost game against UMKS Kielce, team management decided to dismiss head coach Tadeusz Aleksandrowicz . On this role his successor become Ireneusz Purwiniecki . Team management decided also on the termination of a contract with Karol Szpyrka (183-PG-87).

PBS Bank EFIR Energy MOSiR Krosno decide to dismiss Jaromir Szurlej (180-PG-86). On empty place, team management decided to sign-up contract with Rafal Glapinski (183-G-82) who had very good begin of this season in 2 Liga team Rzeszow. New Krosno player was scoring 15 points in average in lower league.

Meanwhile leader of 1 Liga WKS Slask Wroclaw lost important post-up player. Przemyslaw Hajnsz (203-F/C-82, agency: Promotex) broke Achilles tendons on Tuesday practise. Elan Chalon gained the second win in EuroLeague this season. The French side overcame Asseco Prokom Gdynia in the game of the bottom teams of the group. They needed 76:70 victory to climb up the ladder.

Dalmau and Vaqueros agree on release: - by Marcos Carlo

Christian Dalmau (194-G-77, agency: Paris Global Sports, college: Daytona Beach CC) and Vaqueros de Bayamon mutually agreed to part ways and now the former national team guard is a free agent.

Vaqueros owed Dalmau some money and before the release agreed on a payment plan.

Dalmau averaged 17.1 points and 4.1 assists in 2012 for Bayamon. He later player for Titanes in the Dominican Republic and got released.

He won a title with Vaqueros in 2009 and got league MVP in 2011. Dalmau is considered one of the premier guards in the league.

Some teams interested in him are Ponce, Guaynabo, Santurce and Quebradillas.

Khimky clinched a dramatic win over Fenerbahce in the opening game of EuroLeague Round 6. K.C. Rivers (196-G-87, college: Clemson) tipped the ball in at the buzzer as Khimky snatched a tough home win over the Turkish team. The victory allowed the hosts to improve at 4-2 record in Group A. Fenerbahce slipped at 3-3 record.
Fenerbahce enjoyed a narrow 18:17 lead after ten minutes of action. However Khimky went on a 22:11 run in the second frame to take a 39:29 halftime lead. Fenerbahce cut the deficit in the third frame. Baris Ermis (194-G-85) put the visitors within 5 points at the final break 51:56. Omer Onan finally tied things up at 60 midway through the final term. Preldzic made it 61:60 for the Turkish team. The lead changed hands for several times before David Andersen (212-C-80) gave Fenerbahce a 70:69 advantage with 55 seconds remaining. Sergey Monya missed a triple but K.C. Rivers grabbed a rebound and tipped the ball in at the buzzer. The referees reviewed the play for some time before stating Khimkys victory. K.C. Rivers finished with 14 points to pace the hosts. Vitaliy Fridzon (195-G-85, agency: Alti Sport) added 12 points for the winners. David Andersen responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Fenerbahce. Bojan Bogdanovic (203-SG-89) and Baris Ermis had 11 points each in the loss.

CSKA Moscow eke out Lietuvos Rytas at Siemens Arena in the start of the Round 6 in EuroLegaue. The Russian team improved to 5-1 record after 72:61 victory. Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius meanwhile feel at 1-5 record in Group D.
Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius started with 16-14 and also scored 16 points in the second frame. It was not however enough to seal the win in the first half as the guests replied with 19 points and led 1 point at the halftime. Moreover the second half belonged to the Russian Champion. CSKA won the third period 20-14 and finished the game with 18-16.

Davon Jefferson may be added to Enisey roster - by Eurobasket News

Enisey Krasnoyarsk (PBL) is close to ink 26-year old American forward Davon Jefferson (204-99kg-86, college: USC) who played last time at Guangzhou Liu Sui Whampoa. Jefferson managed to play in four leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In two NBL games he averaged impressive 18.0ppg, 14.0rpg, 2.5apg, 1.5spg and 3.0bpg. He also played at Triumph Lyubertsy that season. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and Jefferson had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 14 Baltic League games last season he had 14.0ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.9apg. He helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Baltic League Honorable Mention. Jefferson also played 17 games in EuroChallenge where he had very impressive stats: 16.7ppg, 7.8rpg and 3.1apg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Eurobasket.com All-EuroChallenge 3rd Team. Jefferson also played 22 games in Russian PBL where he was the best scorer with impressive 20.3ppg and recorded 7.9rpg (leader !!!), 2.6apg, 1.5spg and 1.0bpg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Russian PBL Import Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
The previous (10-11) season Jefferson played at ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket in French league. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In four Euroleague games he had 11.8ppg and 7.3rpg. Jefferson also played 6 games in Eurocup where he had 15.0ppg, 7.3rpg, 2.5apg and 1.5spg. He also played 34 games in French ProA where he was second best scorer with impressive 18.5ppg and averaged 7.4rpg (#2 in the league), 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.4bpg. He contributed to his team making it to the semifinals. Jefferson won Chinese NBL championship title.
He received Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Player of the Year award in 2010.
Jefferson has played previously professionally in France and Israel (Maccabi Haifa).
He attended University of Southern California until 2008 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.

Boban Marjanovic gets MVP of the Week award for Serbian A League - by Eurobasket News

International center Boban Marjanovic (222-C-88, agency: Beo Basket) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Mega Vizura and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 24-year old center had the game-high 23 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Mega Vizura in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Sloga (#14, 1-6) 94-93. It allowed Mega Vizura to jump to the first place in the Serbian A League. Mega Vizura have a solid 6-1 record. Marjanovic turned to be Mega Vizura's top player in his first season with the team. Marjanovic has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 16.1ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.7rpg) and averages solid 1.4bpg and 73.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old Bosnia and Herzegovina guard Marko Popovic (193-G-84) of Sloga. Popovic impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 11 assists. Bad luck as Sloga was edged by the higher-ranked Mega Vizura (#1, 6-1) 94-93. This loss caused Sloga to drop to 14th position in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Sloga managed to get this year. Popovic is a newcomer at Sloga and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#9). He also recorded 8.3 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was Stefan Stojacic (194-F-89, agency: Interperformances) of second-ranked Vojvodina. Stojacic scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Stojacic's great performance Vojvodina lost 88-90 to #3 ranked Sloboda Uzice. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Vojvodina had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Stojacic's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Stojacic has a very solid season. In 6 games in Serbia he scored 11.3ppg.

Forward Nasir Robinson (195-F-89, agency: TSS Management, college: Pittsburgh) is no longer the player of MBK Rieker Komarno. But why they released the member of the starting five with an average of 14.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 1.4 apg? It was because of the work permit papers. Jozef Pavlik, general manager of MBK Rieker Komarno has told the couldnt get the papers from american embasy right, so they had to released them and send him back to America. Pavlik also told that they are looking for player that will play on similar position as Robinson (3-4).

Mahram Tehran (Superleague) have agreed on terms of contract with 51-year old Slovenian coach Mehmed Becirovic. He coached most recently the Iranian National Team. Previously he worked at Telenet Oostende in Belgian Ethias League.
Becirovic won Ukrainian Superleague championship title in 2008.
He was selected to Coach Assistant: Adriatic League All-Star Game back in 2008.
Becirovic was coaching Slovenian Senior National Team two years ago, and coached also U20 National Team between 1999 and 2002.
He has coached previously professionally in Italy and Slovenia (Union Olimpija Ljubljana).

Panathinaikos celebrated the third win in Euroleague Group A. They held off visiting Real in Athens tonight. Stephane Lasme (203-F-82, college: Massachusetts) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds to pace the hosts.
Real Madrid enjoyed a 16:12 lead ten minutes into the game. But Panathinaikos turned things around in the second quarter. The Athens team unloaded 30 points in the second frame and gained a 42:35 halftime advantage. Panathinaikos maintained the lead throughout the third quarter. The hosts boosted the distance to 13 points with ten minutes remaining. Real got within 7 points midway through the fourth stanza but Panathinaikos stayed calm and executed the victory to perfection. Khimky clinched a dramatic win over Fenerbahce in the opening game of EuroLeague Round 6. K.C. Rivers (196-G-87, college: Clemson) tipped the ball in at the buzzer as Khimky snatched a tough home win over the Turkish team. The victory allowed the hosts to improve at 4-2 record in Group A. Fenerbahce slipped at 3-3 record.
Fenerbahce enjoyed a narrow 18:17 lead after ten minutes of action. However Khimky went on a 22:11 run in the second frame to take a 39:29 halftime lead. Fenerbahce cut the deficit in the third frame. Baris Ermis (194-G-85) put the visitors within 5 points at the final break 51:56. Omer Onan finally tied things up at 60 midway through the final term. Preldzic made it 61:60 for the Turkish team. The lead changed hands for several times before David Andersen (212-C-80) gave Fenerbahce a 70:69 advantage with 55 seconds remaining. Sergey Monya missed a triple but K.C. Rivers grabbed a rebound and tipped the ball in at the buzzer. The referees reviewed the play for some time before stating Khimkys victory. K.C. He could not help one of league's weakest teams Stelmet ZG (1-1) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Hodge's very good performance Stelmet ZG was defeated 74-67 at home by the leading Unics Kazan. He was the top scorer with 16 points. Hodge also added 7 assists. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Hodge has individually a very good season with high stats. Washington recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in 28 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Former international center Frank Elegar (208-86, college: Drexel, currently plays in Baltic League) couldn't help Kalev/Cramo (3-1) in their game against Pieno Zvaigzdes (5-0) in the Baltic League. Despite his very good performance on Wednesday night He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 10 rebounds. He was MVP of the game. Duncan had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. He also added 4 assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals in 31 minutes. The San Antonio Spurs have a very good 7-1 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Rakeem Christmas (206-F/C-91, currently studies in the States) managed to help Syracuse University in a victory against the San Diego State University 62-49 in the NCAA on Sunday night. Christmas scored only 3 points, had 6 rebounds and made 5 blocks in 25 minutes. The Syracuse University has conference record this season. This year Christmas has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg in the six games.

Olexander Osnach left Hoverla - by Eurobasket News

22-year old domestic center Olexander Osnach (201-84kg-90) left Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk (Superleague). But in 5 games he played this season he had just 0.8ppg.
The previous (10-11) season Osnach played at Khimik. In two EuroChallenge games last season he recorded only 1.5ppg. He also played 20 games in Superleague where he recorded only 2.1ppg and 1.3rpg. Osnach represented Ukraine at the European Championships U20 in Croatia two years ago. His stats at that event were 8 games: 2.8ppg, 1.5rpg.
Osnach has played previously for two other Ukrainian teams: Azovmash and BC Donetsk.

The Leicester Riders professional basketball club, are renowned for their constant desire for improvement both personally and within the community, with their ultimate goal of providing a range of opportunities for the younger generation. Therefore it is of no great surprise that General Manager, Russell Levenston and Head of Injury Management, Donna Phillips are delighted to announce their new Assist Programme.

The primary aim of the programme is to provide newly qualified sports therapists and physiotherapist the opportunity to work within a professional environment. The therapists involved will be responsible for injury management maintenance and support throughout the season for all teams, events, camps, practice sessions and games both home and away. Thus offering the newly qualified therapists invaluable experience, whilst leaving the players safe in the knowledge they are cosseted in capable hands. As a result, this programme will establish a bank of injury management professionals via training workshops and vital hands on experience.

In addition to the invaluable experience the programme will provide the therapists, The Leicester Riders will also aspire to open their own sports injury clinic, which will open its doors to the paying public, whilst providing season long injury management and support for all Leicester Riders Teams. The copious benefits and impact the Assist Programme will have on both the Riders and the therapists are abundantly clear and further expressed by Head of Injury Management, Donna Phillips who stated;

"I'm really looking forward to starting the Assist Programme. I'm excited about the opportunity this opens up for young people and am happy to be involved in their development. It's a great start for them. I've worked in different areas of sport for the past 13years and am looking forward to sharing my experiences and seeing others benefit."

Equally as enthused by the programme was General Manager Russell Levenston, who openly shared his excitement for the programmes potential impact;

"The Assist programme is a great opportunity for our players to receive the professional aid and advice they require throughout the season, but will also provide essential experience of working within a professional club for the newly qualified sports therapists and physiotherapists, an experience they might otherwise struggle to obtain.
