Real Madrid started the game on a more offensive mode and took an early lead of 5 (2-7) mainly due to the scoring behind the arc. Panathinaikos Athens was following the score, which went as many as -7 (9-16, 7') but was able to cut the deficit by the end of the first period to the four points in a very poor 12-16.
The picture of the second period was entirely different since Stephane Lasme took his "gun" and was the leading figure to the Green comeback. Panathinaikos Athens took an early lead with Bramos just two minutes after the beggining of the second period (18-16) with Bramo's brilliant dunk. Panathinaikos Athens was much better in teh second period and took a lead of eas many as 12 points (38-26, 18') but real with three continouous three pointers cut the deficit to the seven with a buzerbeeper by Fernandez (42-35).
Panathinaikos Athens continue to dominate in the court with Bramos leading the greens and the difference going sky-high to the +14 (51-37, 23') while two minutes before the end of the third period Dimitris Diamantidis (196-G-80) (who ended the game with 8 assists) increase the deficit to the +15 (61-46).
Real Madrid tried to react and mainly with three pointers cut the deficit to as little as 7 points (71-64,36') in the last period, but the greens wouldn't missed the chance so with a control basketball and very solid defence Panathinaikos Athens kept the deficit and the victory in the OAKA which was packed (nearly 18.000 green fans), with 79-68.
Real Madrid fell to the 4-2 while Panathinaikos Athens is following with a 3-3.
The quarters were: 12-16, 42-35, 65-52, 79-68
Top scorers:

| Donnie McGrath selected the top Irish playing abroad in last week's games
- by Eurobasket Center
Here is the weekly review of the top performing Irish players, who play currently abroad.
The list of other players, who all have Irish passport but never been selected to any of Irish national teams: #1. Levon Kendall (209-F-84, college: Pittsburgh, currently plays in Spain), who plays in the Spanish ACB could not help Blusens Monbus (4-3) in their last game. Despite his good performance Blusens Monbus lost 69-73 on the road to the lower-ranked (#13) UCAM Murcia. Kendall recorded 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 32 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Kendall is ranked second on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best blockers (fifth place). He has individually a very good year with high stats. Kendall averages: 16.4ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3bpg in the seven games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Canadian and Irish. #2. Will Hanley (200-G/F-90, agency: Duran International, college: Bowdoin, currently plays in Spain) led Oviedo CB to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Lan Mobel ISB (3-1) crushing them 79-57 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting the same number of rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Hanley's first season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Oviedo Club Baloncesto (3-1) is placed second in the LEB Silver. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Hanley is currently fourth on the list of best rebounders and also on the list of most steals (second place). He has very reliable stats this season: 12.8ppg, 8.8rpg and 2.8spg. Hanley is a naturalized American. Apparently he has never played in Ireland. #3. Experienced Tony McCrory (199-G/F-77, college: Simon Fraser, currently plays in Switzerland) was not able to help the league outsider Starwings (0-6) in their game against Geneve Lions (4-2) in the Swiss LNA. Despite his very good performance on Sunday night McCrory scored 16 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. McCrory is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Starwings' roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 3.3apg. McCrory is another player who holds two passports: Canadian and Irish. #4. Yaniv Strauss (190-F-92, currently plays in Israel) managed to help Kazrin/Galil in a victory against the closely-ranked Elitzur Ramla crushing them 98-74 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night. Orel Lev (195-SG-93, currently plays in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Hapoel Kfar Saba (1-4) in their game against Ironi Ramat Gan (4-1) in the Israeli National League (second division). He cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones. Lev scored only 2 points. Hapoel Kfar Saba was crushed 78-57 in Ramat Gan by the leading Ironi. Lev's total stats this season are: 4.3ppg and 1.3rpg. #6. Bar Maor (191-PG-92, currently plays in Israel) is a teammate of previously mentioned Yaniv Strauss and both played together in the last Israeli National League game. Maor contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Elitzur Ramla crushing them 98-74. He scored only 2 points in 20 minutes.
