| Emanuel Ginobili selected the top Argentinian playing abroad in last week's games

We bring you last week's top performances from Argentinians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams: #1. Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-G-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) led Matera to a victory over the closely-ranked Treviglio (7-2) 82-66 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) on Monday night. He was the best player in that game. Vico scored 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 4 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Bawer Matera (8-2) is placed first in the Nazionale A. Vico has reliable stats this season: 13.3ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.6apg and 3.2spg. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian. #2. Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-F-81, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help Tezenis VE (4-3) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Ghersetti's very good performance Tezenis VE was edged 80-77 on the road by the higher-ranked C.de Latte BRE (#5). He was the second best scorer with 15 points. Ghersetti also added 4 rebounds. Ghersetti has reliable stats this season: 10.3ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.9apg and 2.4spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. #3. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in Pall.Trento's victory against the 13th-ranked FCM Ferentino (1-5) 87-81 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. Forray recorded 13 points and grabbed 5 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 25 minutes. Pallacanestro Trento 2009 (3-3) is placed ninth in the Lega2. Forray has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.7apg and 2.2spg in the six games he played so far. Similarly like Ghersetti and Vico above he has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities. #4. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help AcegasAps TR (4-3) in their game against LeGamberi Foods Forlì (3-4) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Filloy recorded 9 points and added 4 assists. But AcegasAps TR was defeated 76-70 at home by the lower-ranked LeGamberi Foods Forlì (#11). Filloy has reliable stats this season: 11.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg. Similarly like three previous players above, he also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Despite Filloy's Argentinian nationality, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Argentinian team. #5. Pablo Bertone (193-G-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the Florida Atlantic in their game against the University of North Carolina in the NCAA. Bertone scored 9 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 25 minutes. But the Florida Atlantic (#47) was crushed 80-56 in Chapel Hill, NC by the University of North Carolina. This year Bertone averages only 8.6ppg in the eight games. #6. Bernardo Musso (193-G-86, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams LeGamberi Foods Forlì in their game against Fileni BPA Jesi in the Italian Lega2 (second division). He scored 6 points. His team was defeated 70-63. Musso has averaged so far 6.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports. #7. Brian Savoy (192-SG-92, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams SAM Massagno 83-65 in the Swiss LNA on Sunday night. Savoy scored 8 points in 15 minutes. Savoy has averaged so far 6.3ppg and 1.5rpg in the six games. He has Argentinian and Swiss nationalities. Despite Savoy's Argentinian passport, he currently plays for the Swiss U20 national team and cannot be called to the Argentinian team. #8. Alejandro Bortolussi (202-F-89, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Leche Rio Breogan Lugo to win against one of league's weakest teams Melilla Baloncesto 64-57 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game. Bortolussi recorded only 3 points. Bortolussi has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 1.1rpg. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Spanish. #9. Pablo Gamaleri (194-F-93, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help the league outsider Arkadia Lions in their game against Redwell Gunners Oberwart in the Austrian A Bundesliga. Gamaleri recorded 9 points in 18 minutes. His team were crushed by 32 points 90-58. Gamaleri has averaged so far 7.7ppg and 3.0rpg in the three games. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports. #10. Martin Calvo (198-F-88, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help the league outsider Liverpool Mersey Tigers in their game against Leicester Riders in the British BBL. Calvo cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. His team was crushed by 39 points 79-40. Calvo has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 3.0apg. He has Argentinian and Spanish nationalities. |

#11. International forward Ryan Broekhoff (201-90, currently studies in the States) helped Valparaiso win their game against the Northern Illinois University crushing them 69-46 in the NCAA on Tuesday night. Broekhoff recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds. Broekhoff has averaged so far 4.8ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg. He plays currently for the Australian national team. #12. U19 international forward Dan Trist (206-92, is currently at the American university) helped Lafayette win their n overtime game against the Long Island University 98-94 in the NCAA in Monday night's game. Trist recorded 30 points (!!!) in 32 minutes. Trist has averaged so far 4.8ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg in the six games. He used to play for the Australian U19 national team last year. #13. Former international center Julian Khazzouh (209-86, currently plays in Lebanon) helped Sagesse win their game against the eighth-ranked Antranik crushing them 104-74 in a derby game in the Lebanese Division A last Sunday. Khazzouh recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Khazzouh has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.0apg and 2.0bpg. He used to play for the Australian national team three years ago. #14. International power forward Mark Worthington (202-83, college: Metro St., currently plays in Adriatic League) helped his Serbian team Radnicki KG win their game against the 12th-ranked HKK Siroki WWin 73-59 in the Adriatic League on Saturday night. Worthington scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes. Worthington has reliable stats this year: 12.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.6spg in the nine games. He plays currently for the Australian national team. #15. International guard Matthew Dellavedova (193-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped St.Mary's, CA win their game against the Utah State University 67-58 in the NCAA last Thursday. He recorded 21 points and added 3 assists (made all of his six free throws) in 40 minutes. Dellavedova averaged so far 14.2ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.4apg in the nine games. He is also in the roster of the Australian national team. The list of other players, who all have Australian passport but never been selected to any of Australian national teams: #1. Kyrie Irving (191-G-92, college: Duke, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA could not help the Cleveland Cavaliers (2-8) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Cleveland Cavaliers lost 101-114 on the road to the Brooklyn Nets. Irving was the second best scorer with 34 points. He also added 4 boards, passed 8 assists and added 3 steals (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) in 38 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Irving's second season in pro basketball. It was Cavaliers' sixth consecutive loss in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Irving is ranked sixth on the list of the top scorers in the league with 22.9ppg. He also averaged so far 3.7rpg, 5.6apg and 1.1spg in the 10 games he played so far. Irving is a naturalized American. Despite his Australian passport, Irving previously played for the USA U18 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Australian team. Strangely he has never played in Australia. #2. Adrien Sturt (209-C-86, college: Snow CC, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL was not able to help one of league's weakest teams London Lions (4-7) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Sturt's very good performance London Lions was defeated 87-73 in Glasgow by the higher-ranked Rocks (#6). He was the top scorer with 22 points. Sturt also added 6 rebounds. Sturt's stats this season are: 14.2ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.4apg. #3. Mathiang Muo (196-F, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the Charleston So. in their last game on Sunday. Despite Muo's very good performance the Charleston So. was defeated 82-73 in Tucson, AZ by the University of Arizona. He scored 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Muo's stats this season are: 14.2ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.4apg. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and Sudanese. #4. Experienced Michael Kingma (208-C-79, agency: R.H.Consultancy, currently plays in Holland) couldn't help Groningen (6-3) in their game against Weert (3-6) in the Dutch Eredivisie. Kingma scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Groningen was defeated 83-77 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Weert (#8). Kingma has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 4.0rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Australian and Dutch. #5. Triantafillos Tzakopoulos (187-G-85, currently plays in Germany) led Duesseldorf Baskets to a victory against the league leader BV Chemnitz 99 (8-0) 83-69 in the German ProA (second division) last Sunday. Tzakopoulos recorded 11 points and added 5 passes in 27 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Duesseldorf Baskets (8-2) is placed first in the ProA. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tzakopoulos has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.3apg in the 10 games. He has both Greek and Australian nationalities. #6. Majok Majok (203-F, currently studies in the States) contributed to a Ball St.'s victory against the Wofford College 66-61 in the NCAA in Friday night's game. Majok scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 25 minutes. Majok has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.3apg in the 10 games. He also holds two passports: Australian and Sudanese. #7. Dexter Kernich-Drew (198-G-91, is currently at the American university) helped Washington St. win their game against the Utah Valley University crushing them 72-49 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Kernich-Drew scored 14 points. Kernich-Drew has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.3apg. #8. Venky Jois (201-F-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the E.Washington in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance the E.Washington was badly defeated 96-79 in Northridge, CA by the Cal State - Northridge. Jois recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jois has averaged so far 6.2ppg, 1.9rpg and 3.3apg. #9. Lee Jeka (187-G-83, agency: Limelight Hoops, currently plays in Germany) helped Science City Jena win their game against the closely-ranked ETB Wohnbau 93-82 in the German ProA (second division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 22 minutes. Jeka averaged so far 12.3ppg, 3.1rpg and 4.3apg in the 10 games. He has dual citizenship: British and Australian. #10. Damon Heuir (188-G, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the S.Utah in their game against the The University of Nevada in the NCAA, despite his very good performance on Sunday night. Anyaorah recorded 9 points. The N.Carolina Central has conference record this season. Anyaorah has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.3apg. He is a naturalized American. Strangely Anyaorah has never played in Austria. Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was former U18 international forward Edrico McGregor (201-90, currently plays college basketball in the States). He contributed to UTSA's victory against the South Carolina Upstate 67-59 in the NCAA last Saturday. McGregor scored 6 points. The The Univ.of Texas - San Antonio has conference record this season. This year McGregor averages:, 5.8rpg, 2FGP: 56.5%(74-131), 3FGP: 41.7% and FT: 40.9%. He played for the Bahamas U18 national team four years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Klay Thompson (198-G-90, college: Washington St., currently plays in NBA) led Golden State Warriors to a victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (5-4) 106-98 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 12 points in 28 minutes. The Golden State Warriors have 5-5 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Thompson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 14.0ppg, 4.3rpg and 2.2apg in the 10 games he played so far. Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American. Despite his Bahamas passport, Thompson previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Bahamas team. #2. J.R. Cadot (195-G-87, college: TCU, currently plays in Slovakia) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams SKP Banska Bystrica (2-6) 102-85 in the Slovakian Extraliga last Wednesday. He scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 6 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Cadot's first season in pro basketball. BK Edymax SPU Nitra (6-3) is placed third in the Extraliga. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Cadot's first year with the team. Cadot is currently sixth on the league's list of top scorers. This season he has very high stats. Cadot averages: 16.3ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.9apg and 1.6spg. #3. Dynile Forbes (188-G-86, college: La-Monroe, currently plays in Spain) led Aurteneche Maquinaria Euskadi to a 1-point victory over the closely-ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (4-2) 76-75 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Forbes scored 22 points in 24 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Aurteneche Maquinaria Euskadi (4-2) is placed fourth in the LEB Silver. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Forbes' first year with the team. This season Forbes averages: 9.7ppg in the three games. #4. Buddy Hield (190-G, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to Oklahoma's victory against the University of Texas at Arlington 63-59 in the NCAA in Friday night's game. He scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The The University of Oklahoma has conference record this season. It's Hield's first year with the team. This year Hield averages: 9.7ppg. #5. Shaquille Cleare (206-C, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Morehead State University crushing them 67-45 in the NCAA on Monday night. He recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. The University of Maryland has conference record this season. Cleare has relatively good stats this year: 14.6ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.1bpg and 1.9spg. #6. Mikhail McLean (203-F-91, is currently at the American university) managed to help University of Houston to win against the Grambling State University crushing them 87-47 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Shaquille Symonette (198-F, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the AAC could not help the Montreat Anderson College to beat the The Citadel. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Symonette scored only 2 points in 11 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 62-45 in the AAC. The list of other players, who all have Belarusian passport but never been selected to any of Belarusian national teams: #1. Yivgeni Lioutrine (200-C-88, currently plays in Israel), who plays in the Israeli National League (second division) could not help one of league's weakest teams Elitzur Yavne (4-1) to beat Ironi Kiryat Ata (4-1). He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. Elitzur Yavne was edged 77-76 at home by the higher-ranked (#3) Ironi Kiryat Ata. It was Elitzur Yavne's first loss after four consecutive victories. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. This year Lioutrine's total stats are: 4.4ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2spg in the five games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Belarusian and Israeli. #2. Igor Suhinin was not able to help Rjazan (3-4) in their game against Universitet-Yugra (5-2) in the Russian Superleague (second division). Suhinin cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. We bring you last week's top performances from Belgians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
The list of other players, who all have Belgian passport but never been selected to any of Belgian national teams: #1. Tyler Haws (196-G, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the BYU in their last game on Friday. Despite Haws' very good performance the BYU was badly defeated 88-70 on the road by the Florida State University. He scored 23 points, grabbed 9 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls. Haws is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in BYU's roster. Haws' overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg. #2. Experienced Ryan Hoover (187-PG-74, agency: SportsTalent, college: Notre Dame, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) was not able to help Fileni BPA Jesi (3-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Fileni BPA Jesi lost 78-83 at home to the league outsider (#15) Upea CdO. Hoover recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 34 minutes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Hoover is ranked fifth on the list of the best passers in the league with 3.9apg. This year he also averages: 10.7ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.6spg in the seven games he played so far. Hoover is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Belgium. #3. International power forward Jozo Brkic (212-86, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Adriatic League) couldn't help KK Zadar in their game against Buducnost in the Adriatic League, despite his very good performance last Saturday. He was the top scorer with 14 points. Brkic also added 5 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes. But his team was badly defeated by 16 points 76-60. This year his total stats are: 7.3ppg and 3.7rpg in the nine games. Despite Brkic played previously for the Croatian U20 national team, he is currently in the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team roster. #12. Four Estonian NT players, playing abroad, were in action last weekend and all of them ended the week with another victory. Janar Talts (207-PF-83) contributed 6 points and 5 rebounds despite playing only 4 minutes as the Seria A leader Varese Cimberio won 85:84 against 2nd placed Sassari. Kristjan Kangur (201-SF-82) scored 10 points as Siena Montepaschi took a firm 86:66 win against Caserta. Siena has won 6 out of 8 games. Siim-Sander Vene (203-SF-90, agency: Alti Sport) scored 12 points and took 6 rebounds as BC Prienai kept 100%-record, beating Panevezys 80:74. Prienai leads Lithuanian league with 6 wins. Sten-Timmu Sokk (181-PG-89) scored 5 points as Olimpi Tbilisi maintained a 100% ecord in Georgian league after beating Samedicino 106:63.
