|
|
by Eurobasket News - Oct 10, 2008 | | | According to Sport Express, Avtodor Saratov hired Juri Selikhov as a new head coach. It means that Croatian Niksa Bavcevic won't stay any more on the bench of the Russian team. Interesting is that Avtodor currently has perfect score 4-0 in Superleague B. Selikhov started last season as a head coach of Ukrainian MBC Odessa but he left in January. He joined Odessa during the season 06/07, which he started as an assistant coach of Dynamo Moscow Region. It won't be anything new for 65-year old coach as it is his third arrival in Saratov. Last time he led the team on season 01/02. In the meantime he used to work in Spartak St. Petersburg, Samara, Shaktar, German Trier and Polish Szczecin. In 1992 and 1993 Selikhov was a head coach of Russian senior National Team. After that he had the same position but with youth selections. He has one title in his pocket and it was in Ukrainian championship 97/98 with Odessa. As it is mentioned above, Avtodor is perfect so far and it is one of the main candidates for top of Superleague B.
