Germany - Ingo Freyer Will Coach The Giessen 46ers Next Season  - by Miles Schmidt-Scheuber - 18 hours ago

The last few months haven't been the easiest for head coach Ingo Freyer as he has had to digest the Phoenix Hagen fiasco as the club went bankrupt, but it was clear that this guy wouldn't be jobless long. According to eurobasket sources, Ingo Freyer will take over th reigns for current head coach Denis Wucherer in Giessen next season. Wucherer had made clear that he will seek offers and not return and continue to move up the coaching ladder in Europe. Wucherer has done a solid job with the Giessen 46ers and one could even say exceeded expectations as he came in 4 years ago where the club had fiancial woes and brought the team back to the BBL and has been near the playoffs the last two seasons.

Ingo Freyer had been coach with Phoenix Hagen since 2007 and led the team from the Pro A into the BBL in only his second season. He had made Phoenox Hagen into a solid BBL team that was usually somwhere in the middle of the standings and understood how to make the best out of the limited budget and knew how to find the right and best players possible for the limited money that he had to spend. He developed a Larry Gordon further into a top BBL player and helped reach the playoffs in 2013. With Giessen Freyer will have a similar scenario as he had in Hagen as he won't have a big budget, but the chance to find the best players again that will be able to produce for lesser money. Before coming to Hagen as a head coach, he coached SC Rist Wedel for 3 seasons. As a player he played for ALBA Berlin, Brandt Hagen, Caserta (Italy-A2), ratiopharm Ulm, Mitteldeutscher BC, Ludwigsburg, TSV Quakenbruck (2Bundeslliga), and the Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (2.Bundesliga).

Agile forward with excellent speed running the floor ... A defensive minded player who takes great pride in his ability to defend Fundamentally sound rebounding technique with a knack for timing the ball off the glass A presence as a shot blocker, his athleticism and good lateral quickness allow him to defend out to the perimeter and be a good on-ball defender.
Lacks a midrange game at this point. He has bad positioning in the offensive paint when looking for the ball, this really hurts his chances of getting good quality entry passes to work on his low post moves

Club Atletico Platense Florida (TNA) added to their roster experienced 34-year old American forward Keith Gayden (202-104kg-83, college: Duquesne). He just played at Saint John Riptide in Canadian NBL.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Gayden's team made it to the NBL Canada Semifinals in 2016. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Honorable Mention back in 2009.
Gayden is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Chile (CD Tinguiririca San Fernando), Finland, Taiwan, Uruguay, Ecuador (Importadora and ComuniKT), Mexico (Manzaneros, Abejas, Pioneros, Guerreros and Gigantes) and Argentina (9 de Julio, Huracan and San Isidro).
Gayden attended University of Duquesne until 2006 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season as a professional player.
