After spending his entire young basketball career in the Alba Berlin organization, Kevin Wohlrath (197-SF-95) seeks a new challenge joining the Baskets Akademie Weser-Ems/Oldenburger TB. Wohlrath is a 22 year old 197cm forward and last season split time with the ALBA Berlin 2nd team (Regionalliga) playing 3 games averaging 11.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.7apg, 1.3spg, played also at SSV Lokomotive Bernau (ProB) playing 22 games averaging 3.8ppg, 1.3rpg, 1.5apg. "Kevin convinced us in a try-out. His attitude, quickness and desire to defend tough will help us this season", stressed head coach Artur Gacaev.
Last season in the Pro B, the German scored in double figures once with a 11 point effort against Stahnsdorf. Two seasons ago DeAndre Lansdowne (187-G-89, college: Fort Lewis) was playing in tiny gyms in Stahnsdorf, Itzehoe and Schwelm, but this season he finally has made the big time and will be strutting his basketball talents in places like Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt. After stops in the Pro B with Herten to Hamburg in the Pro A, Lansdowne has made the jump to the EasyCredit BBL and will play for the Basketball Lowen Braunschweig this season. Lansdowne is a 28 year old 187cm guard from Albuquerque, New Mexico that will be going into his third professional season. Last season he played with the Hamburg Towers (Germany-ProA) playing 27 games: avergaing 2.3ppg, 5.0rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg, FGP: 57.7%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 71.7%. "Deandre is a physical gaurd that is a very good rebounder for his position. He has a big strength getting to the basket on account of his athleticism", stressed Basketball Lowen head coach Frank Menz. Last season in the Pro A with Hamburg, he scored in double figures in 20 games including a 26 point game against Heidelberg and 22 points against Crailsheim and 21 points against Kirchheim. Injuries plagued Evan Smotrycz (205-F/C-91, college: Maryland, agency: Inception Sports) last season with the Eisaberen Bremerhaven, but injuries, bumps and bruises have never shaken head coach Johan Roijakkers as he has been known for giving guys a chance in the past and has done so again bringing in Evan Smotrycz. Evan Smotrycz is a 25 year old 205cm forward from Reading, Mass that will be going into his third professional season. Last season he started off hot with the Eisbaeren as he scored in double figures in seven of 10 games and proved to be a very versatile unselfish player, but his season ended at the end of November. Especially his passing qualities for a big man are great as he demonstrated in games against Ulm and Bamberg with five and four assists. In his time with Bremerhaven, the American averaged 11.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.2apg, FGP: 47.4%, 3PT: 43.6%, FT: 71.9%. "He is a great passer and dangerous shooter at the position four. He can make players around him better with his passing", warned BG Goettingen head coach Johan Roijakkers.

The American started his basketball career in 2010 with Michigan (NCAA, starting five) where he played 35 games averaging 6.3ppg, 2.3rpg, FGP: 40.1%, 3PT: 38.1%, FT: 69.0%. In his second season at Michigan (NCAA) he played 34 games avergaing 7.7ppg, 4.9rpg, FGP: 52.7%, 3PT: 43.5%, FT: 77.6%, Some of his best games at Michigan included two 20 point efforts against Oakland and Bradley. They never played together at Middle Tenn.St. (NCAA), but when Reggie Upshaw (203-F-95) stepped foot on campus in 2013, Marcos Knight had just finished a stellar career there and commenced a professional basketball career. Olympiacos S.F.P. Pireus (A1) has reportedly agreed terms with 32-year old American point guard Brian Roberts (185-82kg-85, college: Dayton, agency: Interperformances). He played most recently at Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. In 41 games he averaged 3.5ppg and 1.3apg last season.
The previous (15-16) season Roberts played at the Trail Blazers in NBA where in 29 games he had just 2.3ppg. Roberts helped them to make it to the conference semifinals.
Among other achievements he won German Bundesliga championship title for three years in a row (between 2010 and 2012). Roberts received also Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League 2nd Team award back in 2009.

As mentioned above Carey is just out of the college and it will be his first full season in pro basketball.

It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to All-SEC 2nd Team and SEC All-Defensive Team.

San Antonio Spurs (NBA) re-signed experienced 37-year old Spaniard international power forward Pau Gasol (213-113kg-80) to a three-year deal. He played there last season. In 80 NBA games he averaged 11.4ppg, 7.7rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1bpg. Gasol helped them to win the Southwest Division title (twice) (also twice).
The previous (15-16) season he played at the Bulls where in 72 NBA games he had very impressive stats: 16.5ppg, 11.0rpg, 4.1apg and 2.0bpg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to NBA All-Star Game.
In 2001 Atlanta Hawks selected him as third overall pick in NBA draft.
Among other achievements he received Eurobasket.com All-Olympic Games 1st Team award in 2008, 2012 and 2016.
Gasol has been also a member of Spanish international program for some years. He has regularly played for Spanish senior team since 2000 and previously for U20 National Team between 1999 and 2000.

He is also a great long distance shooter and can hit from three in any moment. Maybe he is too weak and should get some more weight. Can do it all with great size. Ability to play any position and can score in many ways. Not strong and very thin. Doesn't rebound well and isn't a great defender either. Everyone compares him to cross between Dirk Nowitzki and Toni Kukoc and yes they are extremely similar in style.
