NBA - Hornets, Weber Agree To Two-Year Deal  - by Eurobasket News - 6 days ago

The Hornets and Briante Weber (6'2''-PG-92, college: VCU) agreed on a two-year deal, Shams Charania of The Vertical tweeted Friday. Putting the undrafted 24-year-old in position to back up Kemba Walker for the remainder of the 2016/17 campaign. Though the exact terms of the deal haven't been announced, even if the second year of the contract isn't guaranteed Weber appears in line to get more than enough of an opportunity to prove his worth over course of the season's final month. Weber has done relatively little across stops with the Warriors and Hornets this season but has only played more than a handful of minutes twice all year. Now that the struggling Hornets have started to come to terms with the fact that their playoff hopes are fading, that could change. Per Jerry Stephens of Fan Sided's Swarm and Sting blog, head coach Steve Clifford is open to slotting Weber ahead of Brian Roberts and the injured Ramon Sessions on the depth chart providing a slightly larger sample size for the guard to prove that there is legitimate value behind his impressive D-League statistics. Weber averaged 16.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game in 31 contests for the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season.

Shows good mobility, running the court with ease. Has worked hard to improve his touch around the basket. Possesses great hands, capable of catching most passes without fumbling or losing control of the ball. Solid rebounder who uses his long arms and hands to tip balls out of position to himself. Solid finisher where he wastes little time, keeps the ball high and goes right up.
This lack of strength can work against him when he faces physical forwards limiting his ability to get good position in the post. Can be stunted by double teams as he doesnt always read the defense quick enough to react

Moncton Miracles (NBL Canada) agreed terms with 31-year old American forward Darrell Wonge (199-86, college: Winston Salem, agency: Interperformances). It is actually his comeback to Moncton Miracles as he has played here before. Wonge played last season at Uhud in Saudi Arabian SBL league.
The previous (14-15) season he played at Al Wehda (Premier League) in Saudi Arabia.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Wonge's team made it to the NBL Canada Semifinals in 2013. He was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese JBL2 2nd Team back in 2009.
Wonge is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. Wonge tasted the life as pro basketball player in Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Sionista), Japan (Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya), EBA (N.Y. Wizards) and Ecuador (Haro and ComuniKT).
Wonge attended Winston Salem State University until 2008 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
On Wonge: Considered one of the best shooters in the 2010-11 EBA season. A natural 2-guard, Darrell is long enough and strong enough to match up against larger players if needed. At 6'7' with a high release point on his jump shot Darrell' s outside shot is almost impossible to block or change! His length might be his biggest advantage for the position he plays!.
