NCAA1 - NC State says NCAA ruled freshman not eligible for going to class after UNC skates  - by Rick Ross - 11 hours ago

Courtesy of cbssports.com
The NCAA has ruled NC State freshman point guard Braxton Beverly is ineligible for the 2017-18 season because he attended summer school courses at Ohio State prior to the firing of former coach Thad Matta.
Beverly had signed with Ohio State originally, however in the wake of the stunning termination of the embattled coach this summer, he was granted a release and transferred to NC State. The NCAA's decision to rule him ineligible, which he intends to appeal, stems from the NCAA rule citing a player must sit if they attended a class at another school prior to the transfer. So basically, going to summer school classes will keep Beverly from playing this season.
"I'm devastated by this decision; it's incredibly unfair," Beverly said in a statement. "I appreciate NC State and the work being done here to appeal this decision. My hope is that it gets resolved and I can be eligible to play this season."
The news became public shortly after the NCAA announced academic problems at North Carolina violated no NCAA rules and UNC would not receive any penalties.
Beverly was a three-star prospect in the Class of 2017 rated as the No. 321 overall player, and the No. 64 player at his position according to the 247Sports composite. Under new coach Kevin Kevin Keatts , he was likely to make a big impact as a true freshman as the team searches to replace Dennis Smith Jr., a one-and-done phenom with the Wolfpack last season. So the NCAA's ruling came as a disappointment for Kevin Keatts .
"I'm very disappointed for Braxton, I know he's devastated," Kevin Keatts said. "We'll appeal this and hopefully it yields a different result."

Greece - Nicholas Paulos signs at Psychiko  - by Chris Mammides - 3 days ago

AE Psychiko Athens (A2) landed 26-year old naturalised American swingman Nicholas Paulos (201-84kg-91, college: NC-Greensboro). He played most recently at Pagrati in Greek C league. In 18 games he averaged 11.2ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.3apg last season. Paulos also spent pre-season at AEK Athens (A1) that year.
His team won SoCon North Division Regular Season in 2012.
Paulos graduated from University of North Carolina, Greensboro in 2015 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into His outlook: ( By Chris Mammides):
Nick Paulos is a super skilled forward, an absolute sniper from downtown but at the same time a very good rebounder and a man with silky moves in the paint who can block, defend and steal the ball at any given moment. He is a 'born to kill' player with 100% offensive instincts. Paulos is a dangerous from behind the three-point arc, he is a tremendously skilled six-foot-eight forward who not only shows a feathery jumper but also the versatility to handle and pass the ball, along with a tremendously high basketball I.Q. He has very long arms which can help him to play defense on much shorter and much taller players, not only does he have an effortless shooting stroke with deep range, but he handles and passes the ball with equal efficiency and without having any real problems while his style reminds the one of Pat Kalathis, another Greek American small forward who's currently playing in the Greek league. He is most definitely of a very good quality and his future is ahead for many great things. His only weakness is that he needs to add some weight in muscles and to work a bit his personal defense
