Araz claim D1 Gold - May 28, 2011  

Araz clinched D1 title today. They overcame Gala 118:116 in the second game of the championship series to complete the sweep. After cruising to the victory in the opening game Araz had to sweat for this one. Araz led by 6 points after ten minutes but Gala levelled things up at 56 at halftime. Gala pulled in front to take a 7-point lead with one quarter remaining. But led by Tahir Bakhshiyev (200-F-82) Araz erased the deficit and forced overtime. Araz proved more experienced in the dying seconds of the extra period and eked out a 118:116 victory at the end.


Azerbaijan U18 selection clinch third spot in the League - May 22, 2011

Azeri U18 National Team occupied the third position in D1. They swept the Bronze medals series versus Abik. U18 selection celebrated a 93:86 victory yesterday to complete the sweep.
In the meantime Araz are now leading 1-0 in the Finals against Gala.
