The game with biggest result difference took place in Cancun. Local Pioneros (27-9) outscored 14th ranked Abejas (13-23) 113-71. The game was mostly controlled by Pioneros. Abejas managed to win fourth quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pioneros dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Abejas' 46. They outrebounded Abejas 54-27 including a 45-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Pioneros especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Gregory Grays (185-79, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import center Rammel Allen (210-79, college: Bridgeport) contributed with 9 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. American guard Jonathan Maxwell (191-82) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and guard Elijah Flores added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros maintains first place with 27-9 record, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Abejas at the other side keep the fourteenth position with 23 games lost. Pioneros will again play against Abejas (#14) in Guanajuato in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Abejas will have a break next round.
