Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Akademija (7-22) lost to tenth ranked Triobet Malsta (12-17) in Jonava 57-70 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Triobet Malsta. Akademija managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Triobet Malsta forced 20 Akademija turnovers and outrebounded them 51-35 including 21 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (202-90) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Gytis Maciulevicius (194-87) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Osvaldas Olisevicius (196-93) came up with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Karolis Alekna (183-91) added 11 points respectively for Akademija in the defeat. Akademija's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Triobet Malsta moved-up to ninth place. Akademija lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with 22 games lost. They share it with Puntukas. Triobet Malsta will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
