Leader Joensuun Kataja delivered the twentieth first victory. This time they crushed 7th ranked Kouvot (10-15) 96-73. Joensuun Kataja made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) who scored that evening 20 points and 5 rebounds and international guard Petri Virtanen (183-80) supported him with 11 points and 8 assists. Four Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Joensuun Kataja's coach Jukka Toijala felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Joensuun Kataja maintains first position. Kouvot at the other side keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. Joensuun Kataja's next round opponent will be Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki. Kouvot will play at home against KTP-Basket in Kotka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
