Very expected game when 9th ranked Charleville-Mezieres (2-2) was defeated on the road by top-ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (4-0) 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Charleville-Mezieres was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pau-Lacq-Orthez made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Charleville-Mezieres turnovers. Pau-Lacq-Orthez players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Brian Boddicker (204-81, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Four Charleville-Mezieres players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pau-Lacq-Orthez have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Antibes. Newly promoted Charleville-Mezieres dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be Lille Metropole (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Charleville-Mezieres will play against JL Bourg (#11).
