Undefeated Pau-Lacq-Orthez (4-1) recorded its first loss on the court of tenth ranked Lille Metropole on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Lille Metropole 89-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The game without a history. Lille Metropole led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Jason Siggers (188-85, college: Albany) who scored 30 points and 6 rebounds. Steve Smith (200-81, college: Iona) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. Forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and forward Brian Boddicker (204-81, college: Texas) added 24 points respectively for the guests. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Claude Bergeaud rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lille Metropole (3-2) moved-up to third place, which they share with 7 other teams. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. Lille Metropole is looking forward to face Bordeaux (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
