Regular Season Round 11: JX Sunflowers - Denso Iris 83-36

Very expected game in Kashiwa where 6th ranked Denso Iris (4-5) were crushed by leader JX Sunflowers (9-0) 83-36 on Saturday. The game without a history. JX Sunflowers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Denso Iris to just 4 points in second quarter and to 12 points in first half. JX Sunflowers dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Denso Iris' 26 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game, while Denso Iris only scored one point from the stripe. JX Sunflowers forced 20 Denso Iris turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. The former international center Satoko Urashima (180-86) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Arisa Fujiwara (175-87) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for JX Sunflowers. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fujitsu RW. Denso Iris lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with five games lost. JX Sunflowers will face again Denso Iris (#6) in Kariya in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
