No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked CSU Sibiu (3-4) defeated at home 14th ranked Miercurea Ciuc (1-7) 77-68. The game without a history. CSU Sibiu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. CSU Sibiu forced 23 Miercurea Ciuc turnovers and outrebounded them 35-23 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Devon Austin (198-87, college: Manhattan) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Bulgarian guard Aleksandar Gruev (187-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. CSU Sibiu's coach Dragan Petricevic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Croatian guard Franjo Bubalo (194-88) came up with 17 points and 6 assists and American forward Zach Henifin (195-88, college: W.Washington) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Miercurea Ciuc in the defeat. CSU Sibiu moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Giurgiu. Miercurea Ciuc at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. CSU Sibiu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Timisoara (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Miercurea Ciuc will play against Craiova (#6).
