Regular Season Round 34: Corr.Victoria - Gansos 95-85

There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 14th ranked Gansos (6-29) were defeated by eleventh ranked Correcaminos (14-20) 95-85 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Correcaminos. Gansos managed to win third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Myron Allen (182-79, college: Lee JC) scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward DeAngelo Riley (206-88, college: Azusa Pacific) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five Correcaminos players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Alejandro Zarco (205-85) responded with 32 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. Correcaminos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Newly promoted Gansos keep the fourteenth position with 29 games lost. Correcaminos will meet higher ranked Halcones Rojos (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gansos will play against Soles (#4) in Mexicali and hope to secure a win.
