Very predictable result when first ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (15-4) rolled over at home 13th ranked Lille Metropole (7-12) 95-74 on Friday. The game without a history. Pau-Lacq-Orthez led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Lille Metropole's 26 and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lille Metropole 38-18 including a 23-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pau-Lacq-Orthez looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Brian Boddicker (204-81, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Senegalese forward Antoine Mendy (198-83) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. American Jason Siggers (188-85, college: Albany) answered with 16 points and the other American import Steve Smith (200-81, college: Iona) added 10 points in the effort for Lille Metropole. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pau-Lacq-Orthez maintains first place with 15-4 record. Lille Metropole at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will face Denain Voltaire (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Lille Metropole will play against Bordeaux.
