Regular Season Round 29: Gravelines - Dijon 68-65

Tenth-ranked JDA Dijon (14-15) gave a tough game to first ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (20-9) on Saturday. Gravelines-Dunkerque managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But JDA Dijon won second period 11-7. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by JDA Dijon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Dwight Buycks (190-89, college: Marquette) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) chipped in 5 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Andre Harris (201-85, college: Fair Dickinson) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU) scored 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Gravelines-Dunkerque maintains first place with 20-9 record. JDA Dijon at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Orleans. Gravelines-Dunkerque are looking forward to face league's second-placed Strasbourg IG on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JDA Dijon will play against Cholet (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
