Hapoel Tel-Aviv used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Rishon Le-Zion 82-71 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Maccabi Rishon was better in fourth quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) who scored 30 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) chipped in 21 points and 5 assists. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Bryan Hopkins (183-83, college: SMU) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import power forward Ricardo Marsh (206-81, college: ODU) added 18 points respectively. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will face Hapoel Holon (#5) on the road in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
