The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bakken as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bakken smashed 9th ranked Aalborg in Aarhus 94-63. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 27 Aalborg turnovers. Bakken looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Aalborg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Kenny Barker (191-86, college: Alaska-Anch.) stepped up and scored 14 points and 4 assists for the winners and guard Sebastian Petersen (187-95) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Ville Tuominen felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Joe Burton (201, college: Oregon St.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian point guard Joey Haywood (185-84, college: St.Mary's) scored 14 points and 4 steals. Bakken (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Aalborg at the other side dropped to the bottom place with six games lost. Aalborg will play next round against Falcon trying to get back on the winning streak. Bakken will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked SISU in Copenhagen.
