A very interesting game took place in Manisa. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Vestel (2-3) to thirteenth ranked Gelism (2-3) 94-93 in the fight for the ninth place. Gelism outrebounded Vestel 47-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Vestel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) nailed a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and guard Sertay Gursu (195-87) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds. Gelism's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) came up with 20 points and 8 assists and Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) added 17 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Vestel in the defeat. Four Gelism and five Vestel players scored in double figures. Gelism moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Vestel. Gelism's next round opponent will be Buyukcekmece (#14) which should be theoretically an easy game.
