Regular Season Round 14: Portland TB - Detroit P. 109-103
Date: November 11, 2013
The Portland Trail Blazers won their third consecutive game with a 109-103 win over the Detroit Pistons Monday night. Damian Lillard scored a team-high 25 points as six Blazers finished with double-digit scoring, including a pair of double-doubles from LaMarcus Aldridge (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Robin Lopez (17 points, 10 rebounds). But despite moving to 5-2 on the young season, much of the postgame talk centered around the defensive laps for the Blazers, who allowed the Pistons to climb back in the game in the final minutes and allowed a season-high 60 points in the paint. "I'd like to get to the point where we're a little bit better at taking away other teams' strengths," Portland head coach Terry Stotts said after the game. "We did a good job on offense," Blazers forward Nicolas Batum added. "We tried to move the ball and involve everybody, but we definitely have to do a better job on defense." Next up for Portland is the Phoenix Suns, who scored 52 points in the paint and raced to 31 fast break points in handing the Blazers a season-opening loss on Oct. 31. Courtesy of: oregonlive.com
