A very interesting game took place in Tenerife. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Gipuzkoa (3-4) to ninth ranked CB Canarias (4-3) 76-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa. Gipuzkoa was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 20-17 charge of CB Canarias, which allowed them to win the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (209-82, agency: FCM) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. point guard Ricardo Uriz (19-80) accounted for 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Jason Robinson (195-80, college: Pikeville) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Brazilian point guard Raul Neto (186-92) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Gipuzkoa in the defeat. Five Gipuzkoa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Canarias moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Gipuzkoa at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. CB Canarias' next round opponent will be higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa will play against Blusens Monbus (#14) and hope to win that game.
