The game in Aalborg was quite interesting. 5th ranked Naestved (4-7) played at the court of eighth ranked Aalborg (4-7). Aalborg managed to secure a 9-point victory 102-93 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aalborg made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for Trinidad and Tobago-Canadian point guard Joey Haywood (185-84, college: St.Mary's) who led his team to a victory with 40 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists (went 15 for 15 at the free throw line !!!). American forward Joe Burton (201, college: Oregon St.) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 23 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American forward Morgan Sabia (203-89, college: Hartford, agency: SDJ Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian-British point guard Alex Murphy (185-88) added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Naestved. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. Aalborg moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Naestved and SISU. Naestved lost fourth consecutive game. Aalborg is looking forward to face SISU (#6) in Copenhagen in the next round. Naestved will play at home against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
