Regular Season Round 14: Hertener Loewen - Oldenburg 91-102

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Hertener Loewen (6-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Oldenburg (8-6) 102-91 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Oldenburg made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Oldenburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) who scored 20 points and 5 assists. Center Jordan Reves (208-91, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Center Blake Poole (195-88, college: St.Martin's) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Matt Reid (185-84, college: Cameron) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Four Oldenburg and five Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oldenburg maintains fifth position in Group North with 8-6 record. Loser Hertener Loewen dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Oldenburg will face league's second-placed SC Rist Wedel on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hertener Loewen will play against Stade (#11) and hope to win that game.
