Regular Season Round 16: Al Wakrah - Al Ahli 89-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Al Ahli's (3-13) road loss to seventh ranked Al Wakrah (5-11) 76-89 on Thursday. Al Wakrah looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Anthony Taylor (188, college: Urbana) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 assists and the other American import forward Dalron Johnson (206-81, college: UNLV) who added 22 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Al Wakrah players scored in double figures. At the losing side Vitti Moto Barsiyak responded with 31 points and American forward Delonte Holland (201-82, college: De Paul) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Al Wakrah maintains seventh position with 5-11 record. Loser Al Ahli keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. Al Wakrah will face bottom-ranked Qatar Sports Club (#10) in Doha in the next round. Al Ahli will play on the road against Al Khor and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
