Regular Season Round 18: Gelisim - Ankara DSI Era 74-78

The biggest surprise of round 18 in TB2L was guest Ankara DSI Era's (12-6) road victory over Gelism (#7) 78-74 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 44-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ankara DSI Era made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was swingman Hakan Erol (200-83) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 19 points. Four Ankara DSI Era players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ankara DSI Era moved-up to third place, which they share with Vestel. Gelism at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Ankara DSI Era is looking forward to face league's second-placed Yesilgiresun in Giresun in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gelism will play on the road against Maliye Milli in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
