Regular Season Round 16: Caceres - Marin 84-63

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Marin (6-9) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Caceres Basket (9-6) 84-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Caceres Basket. Marin managed to win fourth quarter 27-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Marin 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jose Medina (182-93) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 assists and guard Luis Parejo (195-89) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Caceres Basket's coach Antonio Bohigas felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side power forward Joseba Aramburu (205-81) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Manuel Ferreiro (186-90) scored 13 points. Caceres Basket maintains fourth position with 9-6 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Marin lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. Caceres Basket will meet Zornotza (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Marin will play against Askatuak and hope to secure a win.
